Ashley Darby Shows Her “Beautiful” Housewarming Gift from Mia Thornton: “So Thankful”
Ashley’s new house in Arlington, Virginia, just got a chic update thanks to her RHOP castmate.
Ashley Darby and her sons, Dylan and Dean, moved into their house in Arlington, Virginia, in October 2022. Six months later, The Real Housewives of Potomac mom is still celebrating her new digs with a little help from one of her castmates.
On April 26, Ashley shared an Instagram Story photo showing a present from Mia Thornton. In addition to a monogrammed serving board and coaster set (both appear to be from Crate & Barrel), Mia also gifted Ashley a white candle and 52 Stress Less & Self Care Cards. “So thankful for this beautiful housewarming gift!” Ashley wrote, tagging Mia.
Ashley’s journey to finding her new home was a hot topic throughout Season 7 of RHOP after Ashley revealed she was planning to buy a house with Michael Darby amid their split. “He does real estate for a living,” she explained on an October 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “Buying a house is hard work, honey, so if he could make the process a little easier, then I was gonna do that with him. And we’re still legally married.”
Although there were some bumps in the road, Ashley revealed on the February 5 episode of RHOP that she and Michael “did end up buying the house together in [their] joint LLC.”
“At face value, to buy a property with someone who I’m divorcing, yes, that does sound counterintuitive, just dumb,” Ashley added in an interview on the same episode. “But I do feel like, financially, it’s a better decision for me.”
Ashley went on to share that, at the time, she and Michael hadn’t “quite delved into how it will break up, paying the mortgage,” which is $13,000 per month.
Since moving into the house, Ashley and her sons have started to celebrate some milestone moments there. In February, she hosted an epic second birthday bash for Dylan and showed off the kitchen, dining area, backyard, and basement in the process.
Meanwhile, Mia and her family also recently moved out of their $10,000-a-month rental house and into an apartment. “Reverse, reverse. Yes, we MOVED!” Mia captioned a January 5 Instagram post. “This was bittersweet as we anticipated living in the big house for at least [three] years while we decided to build/purchase, continue to rent who knows, but due to unforeseen circumstances, our big space got cut short.”
“One thing about me, I never stay down for long,” she continued. “Minor setback! Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to show you our new space! Elevator up… Penthouse Living, we return!”
