Erika Jayne Is Ready to "Let Go of the Past” with Some Major Home Changes (EXCLUSIVE)
RHOBH's Erika Jayne is taking "a step in the right direction" as she transforms her house.
Erika Jayne is kicking off The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 with a major change. On the November 19 season premiere, Erika revealed she is transforming her house in an effort to move on from her past.
"I am redecorating, so I wanted to come by and get some ideas and see what's available," Erika explained as she shopped for new furniture and decor, noting that a $6,700 murano box was particularly "fabulous."
Since her 2020 split from her ex-husband, Tom Girardi, Erika has been living in "a little Spanish bungalow with a cute pool," as she described it on a Season 11 episode. Now, she's ready to say goodbye to her old home furnishings.
"The house is tiny ... there's really a living room, a bedroom, and the two other bedrooms that are closets," Erika shared on the season premiere. "I spent 20-plus years in what some people will refer to as a mansion. When I left Pasadena, I took what would fit in the house."
"It's time to, I think, let go of the past and let go of that furniture," she continued. "Redoing the living room is a real step in the right direction."
In a November interview with The Daily Dish, Erika shared new details on the process of redoing her home.
"Martyn Lawrence Bullard came to the house and totally gave it a refresh and new energy," she said. "I let go of a lot of old furniture that had some emotional ties to it."
"People kept saying this to me, 'You need to get rid of that old furniture. It's not yours. It's from a time gone by.' I was like, really? Like, is it that big of a deal?" she continued. "And when it left — meaning the furniture — there generally was like, ‘Oh, it did mean something.’ So, it's nice to look around and to have brand new things and feel good about that. And I deserve that. I've worked hard to put myself back on my own two feet."
Is Erika Jayne moving?
Although she just went through the process of redoing the house, Erika doesn't plan on being there forever.
"I've been here for four years, and it's time for me to have my own home," she told The Daily Dish. "I need more space. But that comes when the time is right. You know, I can't predict when that happens for sure."
