See Inside Ashley Darby’s New $13,000-a-Month Home
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member bought a “big house” in Virginia — and yes, she bought it with her ex, Michael Darby.
Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Potomac has documented Ashley Darby going through the process of trying to move out of her shared home with her ex-husband, Michael Darby. Finally, on the show’s February 5 episode, Ashley had some exciting news to share with her eldest son, Dean.
While the mother-son duo sat in a restaurant, Ashley told Dean that a “big house” they had previously visited was now “Dean’s house” where he would “have his own room.”
As the episode showed, Ashley’s new house in Arlington, Virginia, has a spacious living room with a fireplace and a kitchen with a sleek island. “I am so excited,” Ashley said in an interview. “I walked through the door [and] I literally felt like I was at home.”
Viewers are well aware that Ashley planned to buy the home with Michael. Although the idea raised some eyebrows, to say the least, Ashley explained to her mom that she and Michael “did end up buying the house together in our joint LLC.”
“At face value, to buy a property with someone who I’m divorcing, yes, that does sound counterintuitive,” Ashley added in an interview. “Just dumb. But I do feel like, financially, it’s a better decision for me.”
In terms of financial responsibility, Ashley shared that she and Michael “haven’t quite delved into how it will break up, paying the mortgage,” which is $13,000 per month.
"Because we are still married and buying this home, we are 50/50 owners," she continued. “I think Michael and I are in agreement that this is Ashley Darby’s property, and Ashley Darby’s property only.”
According to the updates given at the end of the show, Ashley, Dean, and her younger son, Dylan, moved into their beautiful new house in October 2022.
