If things go as the former beauty queen hopes, Ashley's divorce from Michael could come sooner than previously anticipated.

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby just gave fans a massive update about where she is in her ongoing divorce from Michael Darby.

How to Watch

In Season 9, Episode 7, the former beauty queen invited her mom, Shiela Matthews, over for a motherly heart-to-heart. Ashley said she’d recently met with her divorce attorney, in ongoing conversations featured throughout the season, and the next “big step” for the parents of two was sitting down with a mediator.

What came as a surprise, however, was the timing in which Ashley hoped to see things really moving.

When will Ashley Darby be divorced?

“Thankfully, she says I can be signing by June,” Ashley told her mother. “That’s a month!”

Shiela’s eyes widened at the news. Of course, Sheila was “very proud” of Ashley for continuing to persevere through the difficult process, which began when Ashley went public with the split in April 2022, writing an exclusive statement to The Daily Dish to confirm her and Michael’s separation after eight years of marriage.

Signing papers in June 2024 would put Ashley ahead of her attorney’s projected timeline; both hoped to reach the milestone by Labor Day, as seen in the RHOP Season 9 premiere.

“So, my confidence certainly took a hit after I left Michael,” Ashley told producers in the recent episode. “But, since I’ve experienced being a mom on my own, I’ve turned a corner.”

Ashley and the realtor share sons Dylan, 3, and Dean, 5, and continue to co-parent (instead of “parallel parenting").

Since the separation, Ashley has given audiences a front-row seat to life as a single working mother, remaining candid about her fears of raising their sons alone. But now that time has passed, she seems to have gotten through the initial stages of grief and is closer to finding herself.

“I’m definitely feeling more like myself,” she told producers. “I recognize myself more when I look in the mirror now than I have in the last two years.”

Ashley has been open about “dipping and dabbling” in the dating pool — as she said in a February 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen —  some of which she highlighted in the RHOP season premiere. She also said she was ready to “test drive some cars” to find the one for her.

“You deserve to move on and have someone in your life that is kind to you and treats you the way you like being treated,” Shiela told her daughter over mimosas.
