Ashley Darby “Felt a Little Helpless” After a Recent Incident in Her New House
"I know it's a small thing, but that was so big for me," The Real Housewives of Potomac mom said while sharing an honest look at her journey living on her own.
On the Season 7 finale of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Ashley Darby shared a major life update. The mother of two had put in an offer on her dream house ... and it was accepted!
Ashley said that she instantly felt at home when she entered the Arlington, Virginia abode. And now that she lives there, she's learning the ropes of home ownership, one repair at a time.
"It is very interesting living alone," she said in a recent Instagram Story. For most of her adult life, Ashley said, she's lived in an apartment with an onsite handyman. But such is not the case at her new house, where she's becoming quite handy herself.
Ashley recently got to the root of a power outage and figured out how to turn her hot water back on. "I know it's a small thing, but that was so big for me," she said. "I really felt a little helpless, like, where do I start? And, yeah, I figured it out! There will be many more things like that, I'm sure. Many more things for me to learn."
For now, the homeowner is hatching plans to get a lawnmower this spring. "I'm looking forward to ... teaching my kids about being outside and how to maintain a lawn, which I'm still learning myself," she said. "We'll learn together."
