Monique Samuels got into a car accident in Sunday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. She suddenly fell asleep at the wheel on her way home from lunch with Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard, which caused her to drive off the road and hit a tree. "That accident was probably the scariest thing I ever been involved in in my life personally," Monique recalled during an interview with The Daily Dish earlier this spring. "I've never been in the hospital outside of having my kids. Thank God it didn't get to a point where I had injuries that would have put me int he hospital or in a grave."

Though Monique was a bit sore after the accident, she seemed to come away from the ordeal without any major injuries and was well enough to join the RHOP ladies on their trip to the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania. However, Monique told The Daily Dish that she didn't realize the severity of her injuries until later. "I didn't realize that I was having symptoms of whiplash. A few weeks later, I had to start doing physical therapy. Oh my goodness, my body was jacked up. Like I didn't even realize the impact," Monique shared. "But I had X-rays done, and my chiropractor was like, 'Your spine is literally curving the opposite direction.' You're supposed to have a C shape; mine was going the other way."

The chiropractor told Monique that her injury was "serious," and she probably suffered a concussion as well. "It was crazy. I wish I would have immediately gone to a doctor after it happened, but I thought it was OK. But thank God everything turned out the way it did. I was able to walk away from it," she said. "And my husband [Chris Samuels] was very supportive in just making sure I could take things off my plate so that I made sure I would never be that exhausted again."

During Sunday night's RHOP, Monique explained that she fell asleep at the wheel due to exhaustion from running her businesses and taking care of her family. However, Ashley implied that Monique may have had too much to drink at lunch.

Monique responded to Ashley's comments on Twitter during the episode. "Whatever @_AshleyDarby don’t mistake how many you had compared to what I had," Monique tweeted. "I paid the bill. I know what I ordered... and how many you ordered."

Monique tweeted that she felt Gizelle Bryant's comments about her drinking in the episode were an "attack."

She also tweeted that she would never put herself or anyone else in danger on the road. "Trust! I will park a car real quick and Uber home if I’ve had too much to drink," Monique said. "I would never do that to myself, Hubby or kids smh."

Monique opened up more about feeling judged by the ladies on their way to Nemacolin in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "I thought the point of a girls' trip was to unwind and enjoy each other, not to judge someone over a few drinks as if they’ve never been drunk before. I haven’t had girl time like this in a long time, and I wanted to enjoy every second of it," she wrote. "It’s like the women purposely sit back and watch you enjoy yourself so they can pick you apart."
