Josh Flagg's Open House for His $18M Listing Isn't Going as Planned: "Darkness"

The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent is "not optimistic" about his latest listing.

By Abby Feiner

Although Josh Flagg has expertly sold numerous houses in the Trousdale Estates neighborhood of Los Angeles, his most recent listing in that area is proving to be a bit more difficult than he's used to.

How to Watch

Watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles on Peacock and the Bravo App.

On Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles Season 15, Episode 4, Josh landed a nearly $18,000,000 listing. However, after expressing to his client that the home was overpriced, the two had a heated email exchange that led to his client giving him one week to come up with a new strategy to sell the house. Josh was frustrated, but he was also up to the challenge.

In the video above, which is a preview of MDLLA Season 15, Episode 5, Josh hosts an open house for the property, and it doesn't exactly go according to plan.

As he prepares for the event in the clip, Josh pops a bottle of champagne.

"I have cut back on my drinking," he shares. "With that said, there is no planet where I will be doing this open house sober."

In an interview during the episode, which is set to air on August 7, Josh explains, "I'm not optimistic about tonight's showings because this is not a house that shows very well at nighttime."

Still, he has hope that the other redeeming qualities of the house will attract buyers.

"It is 8,600 square feet, it's in Trousdale," he says before quipping, "It has a somewhat pleasant view ... of darkness."

Unfortunately, it seems no one shows up to the event.

"Crickets," Josh declares, sarcastically adding, "This is how I like to spend my Friday night."

Although it has been a challenge to get on the same page as his client, Josh was initially very excited to sell another home in the neighborhood.

"Trousdale Estates is carved out of the Doheny Ranch and became a development of mid-century homes. I mean, over my life I've sold dozens of homes in Trousdale," he explained on Season 15, Episode 4. "One year I sold more homes in Trousdale than anybody."

However, once he saw the view from the home, he knew getting it sold would come with some unique issues.

"Trousdale its known for its views of the city, not the coyote-ridden canyon," he explained,

Additionally, because the six-bedroom house had "dated finishes," he felt that "at most, this house is worth 15.5 [million dollars]."
