Lisa Barlow Shares All the Details on Her New Home Build: “It’s Weird That We Don’t Have…”
The RHOSLC cast member revealed how her new home will be drastically different from her current one.
In case you missed it, Lisa Barlow has a new home in the works! And The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member gave all the insight into her future abode during a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show.
"We're building a home. Our house right now is cold modern, and the new house we're doing is very clean lines, 90-degree angles only," she told Britani Bateman in the clip (you can watch it above). "Nothing can be, like, rounded. I don't want arches. Very, very warm. John [Barlow] wants concrete floors, so I think that will be the coldest part of the house."
Other details will include radiant heating to warm up those cold floors, a spray tan room in the guest house with washable walls, and ambient lighting throughout the entire space — on the floorboards and then three-quarters of the way up the walls — "so everyone looks pretty in my house, all the time."
"I've asked our architect to do a 2,000-square-foot closet for me, so I have a room behind my closet where I can put all my fur coats and everything," Lisa added. "And I just think the kitchen is going to be a place where everyone wants to hang out."
Lisa Barlow Reveals the Outdoor Amenity Her New Home Will "Definitely" Have
Another theme of the new Barlow house will be indoor/outdoor living, pool included.
"I grew up with a pool, so it's weird that we don't have one, and that we've never had one," she continued. "We're definitely going to have a pool and everything in the backyard will face mountains. You're gonna love, love, love it."
When a producer asked Lisa what exactly she looks for in a home during the After Show, she offered them a list. Still, one feature topped all the others.
"I mean, it's super important for me to have a non-cluttered house. I don't like excess in my home, except for in my closet," she said.
The gorgeous minimalist home where she currently resides proves this is the case.
Lisa Barlow's Connection to Sold on SLC Realtor Sarah Martindale
Lisa hinted at her move in the first trailer for Bravo's new show, Sold on SLC.
"We have to have a guest house, we want a spray tan station," Lisa said while chatting with cast member and realtor Sarah Martindale (fans met her during the Besos dinner in Season 5, Episode 1 of RHOSLC!) about a potential new property. "[And] we have to have a salon in our house."
During the After Show, Lisa explained more about her relationship with Sarah.
"My friend Sarah and her husband, Chris, are amazing real estate agents," she said. "They also do a lot of home flips, so it's so fun to watch what they're buying, what they're doing to the house. They'll take a very vintage house and turn it into something that's absolute luxury with all the features you want."
"They're just, like, my favorites, and I'm so excited for this journey for both of them because I think that it's gonna change their lives," she added. "And it will give people a view into how great the real estate market is [in Salt Lake City]."
Britani Bateman Reacts to Lisa Barlow's Home Renovation Plan
Britani, who's a real estate developer, was impressed with Lisa's idea for a drainable spray tan room.
"I appreciate a good real estate project, and that sounds incredible. Your house is going to be gorgeous. I can't wait to see it," she said.
The RHOSLC friend also took the time to confirm with Lisa that her home was going to be in the city of Alpine, which is situated 32 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
Lisa Barlow shares details on the Park City real estate market
During the After Show, Lisa also took a moment to note how great Utah's real estate market is.
"Park City, there's like nothing that can compare," she said. "A minimum home, for a good one, is like $5 million to $50 [million]. I think it's, like, phenomenal, bougie, and it's a great place to live."
"But don't move here," she quipped. "We're full."
