Josh Flagg Has Major News About the House He Bought Sight Unseen on MDLLA: “Change of Plan”
MDLLA's Josh Flagg revealed a new plan for the $9,295,000 dilapidated house he purchased during Season 15.
On Season 15 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, real estate agent Josh Flagg bought his childhood dream home in Beverly Hills for $9.2 million, sight unseen. As you can see in the video above, that turned out to be a mistake, as the interior of the home had, well, a long way to go.
Josh ended up purchasing a different home for a cool $14 million, and, in a recent Instagram post, shared his plans for the first home that now hangs in the balance.
"After a bit of reflection, I have come to the realization that I no longer want to spend the next four years building a house in the flats of Beverly Hills...so change of plan," Josh began in the November 11 Instagram carousel of photos that showed off the details of his stunning new home once owned by musician Charlie Puth. "Fortunately, I had the opportunity to purchase one of the best true examples of a mid-century masterpiece - the first Trousdale Estates model home in Beverly Hills," he continued, speaking of the 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom house that was built in 1965.
Concerning Josh's plans for his childhood dream home, he noted that his "child" will one day inherit the property as he has "no intentions of living there."
The realtor also added he as "no intentions of selling" the abode, either. "[S]o for the sixteen brokers that have called me this week alone… please stop asking," he joked.
Details on Josh Flagg's $9.2 Million House Seen on MDLLA
As viewers saw on Season 15 of MDLLA, Josh and Tracy Tutor toured the mansion and discovered it to be...quite dilapidated.
"It's really f-cked up that from the outside it looks like a jewel," Tracy said as they toured the space. "How much did you pay for this again?"
Just $9,295,000 is all.
In a confessional, Josh explained why he made the purchase. "I've loved this house since I was a child. And by the way, I'm not alone," he shared. "It's one of those beautiful houses that everyone walks by and is like 'It's so perfect.'"
He added, "I've waited my whole life to see the inside of this house — suddenly the plot has changed. At least there's nice crown molding?"
Walking through the rooms, Josh and Tracy saw plenty of disrepair. "You're essentially starting from scratch here," Tracy noted. "Are you ready for this?"
Per Josh's update above, it appears he decided against taking on the expensive renovation project.
