The Real Housewives of Potomac mom created the most adorable space for her kids to do crafts, play house, and even go bowling.
In the clip above, Ashley Darby welcomes BravoTV.com into her gorgeous Virginia home — or, as she calls it, her "seaside in the city." If that makes the house sound magical, rest assured: The Real Housewives of Potomac mama is just getting started with the whimsy. Inside her nautical space, she's created quite the play areas for her two boys, Dean and Dylan.
Keep reading to get the scoop on the cute and kid-friendly spaces where Ashley's little ones play, and don't be surprised if you start to feel a bit of childlike wonder at the cuteness of it all.
Ashely Darby shows Dean and Dylan's playroom
In her house tour, the former pageant queen leads the Bravo cameras past her blue-and-white living room and chic dining room, heading toward her boys' go-to spot. "My kids favorite room, without a doubt, is their playroom," she says. Explaining that she worked with an interior designer to deck out her home, Ashley points to one of the most colorful features of the playroom: a giant sign filled with rainbow-colored pom-poms, which spells out "Darby."
The designer had the bright piece specially commissioned, and it looks perfect in the toy-filled space. As you can see in the clip above, the cute room also has a miniature basketball hoop, a kitchen set, a crafts table with built-in drawers, and toys ranging from a marble run to miniature bowling pins.
Ashley Darby's Coastal Chic Home
Ashley showed off her new home in RHOP’s Season 8 premiere.“The inspiration for the decor is coastal chic,” the mother of two explained. “Previously, living in my penthouse it was really dark. The finishes were really dark gray and brown and so I wanted it to be light and airy, very natural tones with blues and greens and tans.”
The 4-bedroom home in Arlington, Virginia home has 5 bathrooms and is 3,400 square feet. “I love it. It’s really just my little slice of heaven,” Ashley said, before quipping “Now, I’m paying for it.”
Of course, Dean and Dylan's playroom isn't their only space in the home. Elsewhere, an adorable kids' bedroom is decorated with clean white walls, a white dresser, a wooden nightstand, and cozy white rug with Aztec design elements.
A twin bed with a dinosaur-themed bedspread sits next to a toddler bed for her youngest son. An orange lamp on the dresser gives the cozy room a pop of color, and there's a brown teddy bear on hand for extra cuddles.
Plus, as you can see in the clip above, the boys also have a fun playset in their backyard. They're not the only ones who use it: "Thankfully, this swing can hold an adult!" Ashley says.
