What happened to Whitney Rose's daughter, Bobbie Rose?
On October 6, Whitney took to her Instagram Stories to ask her followers for their prayers and support as Bobbie navigated a serious health issue.
"My beautiful community please pray for my angel daughter Bobbie Rose," Whitney wrote in a statement about her 14-year-old, who she shares with husband Justin Rose. "I normally would never come on here to share something so vulnerable but we need prayers and good vibes right now."
Whitney continued, "She was taken by ambulance to the ICU today for severe asthma exacerbation. Xoxo."
According to an article published by the Journal of Clinical Medicine, severe asthma exacerbation is "an event characterized by change from the patient's previous status," and it can be caused by "indoor and outdoor allergens, air pollutants, and respiratory tract infections (primarily viral mainly human rhinovirus (HRV)."
Two days after posting about Bobbie's hospitalization, Whitney posted an update on how her daughter was doing.
"Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out and check in on Bobbie Rose," Whitney wrote on Instagram. "We are still in the ICU but she has finally seen a bit of improvement. She still has a long way to go, so no official updates yet."
Whitney, who also has an 11-year-old son named Brooks, thanked her fans and followers for sending her and Bobbie prayers and well wishes.
"They are felt and working. Thank you for understanding our desire for privacy at this time, as you can imagine this has been very stressful," she continued. "Bobbie is so brave and strong."
The Utah native also thanked the staff of the hospital for caring for her daughter during such a difficult time.
"You all are earth angels!" Whitney concluded.
