Heather Dubrow and Terry Open Up on Raising LGBTQ Kids: "I Am Actually Grateful..."
The Real Housewives of Orange County couple is opening up about their gratitude for their LGBTQ kids.
Heather Dubrow and Terry Dubrow are "very involved" with the LGBTQIA+ community because of their kids. Three of The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member's four children identify as LGBTQIA+. In a recent interview, both Heather and Terry said that all four of their children are in a "good spot right now" as they opened up about their family ahead of the holiday season.
"I am actually grateful for the platform that Heather has with Housewives," Terry explained in an interview with People. "It allows us to support the LGBTQ community."
Terry continued, noting that they are very involved with their children's lives and the causes that matter most to them: "So with love and support, we just feel very blessed to be a part of the community."
Heather added that checking in on loved ones is particularly important now during the holidays. "I think the most important thing is to stay in our community and keep talking to each other and reaching out to friends and making sure people are good," she said.
"And showing what a normal family looks like, especially during the holidays," Terry added.

Heather opened up to E! News in June about how thankful she was for her kids to be comfortable enough to come out to her. "It's a beautiful thing," she said. "I came from a family that was very 1950s and no one ever talked about anything and everything was sort of brushed under the rug."
She continued, noting that she vowed at a young age "that if I were lucky enough to have a family, I would be the opposite of that," she said. "And so I have to say I'm proud of them, I'm proud of me, I'm proud of us for having the communication that we have."
"The most important lesson I can give to a parent of an LGBTQ+ child, or any child, is to listen. Because people just want to be heard," she concluded.
What are Heather Dubrow's kids' ages?
As previously stated, Heather and Terry have four children who they adore. They are the parents to two twins in college — son Nick Dubrow and daughter Max Dubrow — who are 20 years old and turn 21 years old later this month.
Heather and Terry's daughter, Kat Dubrow, just turned 18 years old on Oct. 4, and is still in high school. Heather took to the caption of her birthday post to Kat where she expressed her gratitude to her. "I love you so much and I'm so proud to be your mom! This is a huge year for you and I'm so excited to have a front row seat!"
Heather and Terry's youngest son, Ace Dubrow, is currently 13 years old and will turn 14 on Dec. 13. Ace practically grew up on camera, as he was just nine months old when Heather first joined the cast of RHOC in Season 7.
How Heather Dubrow is prepping for the holidays 2024
In addition to her family, the holidays are definitely at the top of Heather's mind. Heather took to Instagram this week to show what their Los Angeles penthouse looks like this year for the holiday season. In a carousel post to her Instagram feed, on Nov. 18, Heather showed off their chic black advent calendar, black stockings hung along their fireplace (with one for every family member), and a flocked fake Christmas tree with giant disco balls and oversized silver ornaments at the base of it.
The mom of four then hinted at all that was to come from the upcoming season with her kids in the caption of the post. "This is the start to a FUN week..holiday gatherings, seeing friends, and the twins are turning 21!!!!! Here's a sneak peek of our holiday decor...," she wrote.
