New Potomac Housewife Mia Thornton Opens Up About Her Past Like Never Before
The RHOP newcomer is about to take a big step in her complicated relationship with her mom in this preview of the next episode.
Mia Thornton's life as a wife and mom of three may be picture perfect these days. But growing up, it was very much a different story. Mia has opened up about her mother's past struggles with addiction in her debut season of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
The RHOP newcomer is about to get even more candid about her past in the upcoming episode airing on Sunday, August 8 at 8/7c. In the above first look at the next episode of RHOP shared exclusively with Bravo Insider members, Mia explains to her son, Joshua, 13, that she works so hard "because I want you all to just not want for the things I didn't have."
Even though Mia loves building her chiropractic empire, she says that she recognizes the importance of being present for her children, which also includes son Jeremiah, 5, and daughter Juju, 3. "I'm trying my hardest to provide everything that my children need," Mia shares in an interview in the clip. "But at the same time, it's very easy to just continue to go, thinking that's what your children need when your children just need you."
Mia then goes on to explain the challenges she faced with her mom growing up. Now, Mia is hoping that she and her mom can reconnect as their current relationship remains "distant."
Although Mia's mom wasn't able to attend her family picnic, the Potomac Housewife reveals to husband Gordon her plans to rebuild their relationship, which you can hear more about in the video, above. "So, hopefully, it'll give us an opportunity to connect on a deeper level," Mia says in the clip. "I can understand her more, because right now, I don't get her."
