Karen Huger Shares a Major Update on Her Health (VIDEO)
The Real Housewives of Potomac sits down with her husband, Ray Huger, and doctor for a conversation about her heart health.
Earlier on Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Karen Huger revealed to Gizelle Bryant, Mia Thornton, and Ashley Darby she had a health issue. "I have 5% of calcium in my carotid arteries," Karen shared, however adding: "But that is a number that cannot hurt me ... it's not life-threatening."
Though Karen described the "deposit" as "not life-threatening," she still noted in a confessional interview she had to be "vigilant" about her health. Recently, as you can see in a preview clip for Episode 17, which airs on Sunday, March 17, Karen revealed an update on her heart health during a conversation with her doctor. In the preview clip, Karen and her husband, Ray Huger, visit Cardiocare, a cardiovascular center in Maryland. "You had this coronary calcium score ... that score, as you can recall, was a little bit elevated," Karen's doctor, Dr. Jack Flyer, shares during their conversation.
The doctor continues by noting the last time Karen was at the center she had a "carotid ultrasound test" which revealed that the Maryland mom had "no significant plaque" — in short, good news for Karen.

"It is a very reasonable expectation for you to live a long life," the doctor continues, as a very satisfied Karen shakes her head and smiles. "That's great!" Ray also exclaims.
Karen Huger reveals she bought her grandmother's house
Karen has been thinking about her life and legacy a lot lately. Elsewhere on this season, Karen shared more details about her family's history, including what the future holds for her family's farm, which has been around for more than 100 years.
"Where are we going next with the farm? That's a whole other story. The younger generation is working very diligently to take the farm into the future," Karen shared with BravoTV.com in an April 2022 interview.
More recently, on Episode 7, which aired on December 17, Karen revealed to Candiace Dillard Bassett and Nneka Ihim that she bought her grandmother's home in Surry County.
"It took me almost a year to get my aunt Val to agree to sell me a piece of her land — praise God!" Karen shared in a confessional interview."My grandmother's home is 104 years old. It certainly is historical, it certainly is a warm and loving place; so I am turning that into an experience, which is a mini resort for tourism in Surry County, Virginia."
Karen added: "My [recent birthday] made me think: 'What am I leaving? What type of legacy am I leaving?' I ain't goin' nowhere anytime soon, mind y'all, but I do think about the legacy."
