Dorit Kemsley Reveals How Her Health Journey Led to Her Latest Business Move
RHOBH's Dorit Kemsley opened up about how her battle with PTSD influenced her recent business decision.
Ahead of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 premiere, Dorit Kemsley is opening up about how a change in her health led to a major career move.
The diamond holder, who is currently estranged from her husband Paul "PK" Kemsley, took to her Instagram feed on October 29 to reveal that her PTSD (which she's been battling since her 2021 home invasion) led her to be perimenopausal.
"Women’s health, especially in midlife deserves more attention," the 48-year-old wrote in the caption of her post. "My perimenopausal journey began earlier than expected because of my PTSD and I had no idea what was happening to my body. I was shocked to discover how little I knew about perimenopause and menopause and what happens when our hormones are off balance."
As a result, Dorit decided to join the supplement company, The Better Menopause, as "a shareholder and VP of their advisory board in the US."
"I look forward to working closely with them and aid in their mission to help other women find comfort, support and strength in this phase of their lives," Dorit continued in her caption, noting that she's been "feeling like [herself] again" after taking the "game changer" supplement.
Dorit Kemsley opens up about her battle with PTSD
The mom of two shared more details about how deeply the 2021 home invasion and subsequent robbery affected her on Season 13, Episode 2 of RHOBH.
"Last Christmas was about 14 months after the home invasion, and I went to the bank and I took out $10,000 so I could have some money for Christmas gifts. I had my handbag in the shopping cart," Dorit said in an interview on the episode. "When I got to the register, I realized that my handbag was gone. The police came down and they reviewed the video surveillance. They discovered that I was followed by three men."
The incident put Dorit "right back into the throes of PTSD," and it affected her marriage.
"I've always been the girl that soldiers on. That's who I am. That's who PK knows," Dorit continued. "I definitely underestimated how big of a setback this last incident had on me."
Dorit's PTSD put a strain on her marriage to PK, and the pair ultimately announced their separation in May 2024.
The couple's marital issues will be featured on Season 14 of RHOBH, which premieres on Tuesday, November 19 at 8/7c on Bravo. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
