Mia Thornton served up a juicy story about Karen Huger at dinner while the RHOP cast members enjoyed a girls weekend in Lake Norman, North Carolina.
The ladies of The Real Housewives of Potomac had dinner with a side of shade during their girls weekend in Lake Norman, North Carolina.
Mia Thornton, the lavish weekend’s host, dropped a surprising bombshell about fellow Housewife Karen Huger in the middle of a privately catered dinner with the women of RHOP and some of Mia’s closest friends, including her friend Joy.
During the lakeside dinner, set up on the back patio of Mia’s stunning vacation home, she told the table that she had a “funny story” to share about Karen.
“So there was a time where Joy and Karen and I went out in DC,” she began in the final moments of Season 9, Episode 4. “We went to dinner and the funny story is when you left, you butt dialed us and you said — you were with someone else — and you said, ‘Those girls think I’m with Ray.’”

The episode ended before Karen had a chance to respond, but now the preview for Season 9, Episode 5 takes fans right back to the drama and gives a glimpse at Karen’s surprising reply.
Mia seemingly implied with the pointed comment that Karen may have ended her night with someone other than her husband, Ray Huger, her spouse of nearly three decades.
The butt-dial bombshell left the table stunned, but Karen quickly refuted the story.
“I did not do that,” she said.
Mia explained that she’d been holding onto the story for the last three years, but decided to reveal it now because Karen had gone after her BFF Jacqueline Blake earlier in the day.
“I only bring it up because you came for my girl and you called her a liar,” Mia told her.
“Wait a minute,” a seemingly confused Karen replied. “So, ‘Those girls think I’m with Ray?’ I don’t know why I would say that.”
Karen didn't offer up many more details about the night in question.
“Mia’s sat on this for three years and thought that this was a time to throw a dagger? Honey, ping, ping, ping,” she said in her own confessional as she mimed brushing the calculated shots off her chest.
Mia insisted the story “vindicated” Jacqueline after Karen called her a liar earlier in the day, but Karen told Mia that bringing up the story about the night out years ago was a “good try,” but didn’t vindicate her friend or prove anything.
“You know, there are going to be experiences in your life that are good, that are bad. What I think makes me an OK person is I own the good and the bad and the indifferent about me and I’ve come through a lot,” Karen told the table.
Are Ray and Karen Huger still together?
As for her relationship with Ray, she admitted that they were “having a moment” when she got into a car accident in March of this year, which she said added to her fragile state at the time, but insisted her husband has never wavered in his support of her.
“He’s my soldier. Ray has my back and he’s always been there for me and I — I love him for that, but we’re human and we are going through and we are working on our marriage,” she said.
