Cynthia Bailey's Relationship History: Leon Robinson, Peter Thomas, & Mike Hill
The RHOA alum co-parents with one ex, and has been married twice.
When it comes to relationships, Cynthia Bailey is an open book. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has given Bravo fans a front row seat to two marriages (including on-air weddings), as well as introduced viewers to the father of her daughter Noelle Robinson, Leon Robinson.
And now that The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 1 cast member — who will make an appearance on RHOA Season 15 — is newly single, she’s not looking back with any ill feelings.
“I don’t regret any of my marriages,” Cynthia told Access Atlanta in May 2023. ”I don’t regret any of my relationships. Those men were all a part of my story. They were a part of my journey. And I’ve grown and become better with each man, each experience. I don’t live life with regrets. It’s all a part of my story. It’s all a part of my journey.”
Here’s what to know about Cynthia’s former relationships, including her ex-husbands Peter Thomas and Mike Hill, as well as Leon.
Leon Robinson and Cynthia Bailey share a daughter, Noelle Robinson
Though they split when Noelle was “super young,” Cynthia and Leon have been able to maintain a friendly relationship over the years and they co-parent well together.
He spoke about his relationship with Cynthia on the Allison Interviews podcast in August 2021.
“The child comes first. We have a child together and that is something that will never change, and no matter how many women I may have had in my life, only one of them has given me a child. So, for me, she has the highest respect of anyone,” Leon said.
“We are a family through this child. We are always supposed to do what is best for one another and respect one another, but most of all, do what is best for the child, and the child needs to see two loving parents. Even if we are not together as a couple, we can still love and respect one another," he said. "That is what our daughter [Noelle] needs to see in order to grow up.”
The feeling is certainly mutual: Cynthia has spoken highly about Leon many times. However, that doesn’t mean the two would ever rekindle their romance.
“I get that all the time," Cynthia shared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2017, see in the video above. "Let me just put this to rest. First of all, Leon is in a relationship that he's been in for many, many years, so no disrespect to his lady.”
“That's not gonna happen. It's just not," she added. "I love Leon. I believe in getting along with my exes. I hope the same for Peter. But, no, Leon and I, that ship has sailed. We're good."
Cynthia Bailey married Peter Thomas on Season 3 of RHOA
Cynthia and Peter’s January 2011 wedding, seen in the video above, may be one of the most memorable in Bravo history. Aside from the jaw-dropping setting and Cynthia’s stunning non-traditional dress, there was also a bit of controversy as Cynthia’s mom and sister Mal were not thrilled about the nuptials.
By Season 8, Cynthia and Peter were having struggles in their marriage (namely, the widely-seen video of Peter speaking closely with a female friend at his Atlanta bar, BarONE), and they were open about them on the show. By 2016, Cynthia confirmed that the two had separated and were living apart.
“He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta," Cynthia told The Daily Dish at the time. "I am definitely taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward. I don't want to rush into anything, so I think this time apart is good for us."
Cynthia and Peter’s divorce was finalized a year later, in March 2017.
"Yes, I am officially divorced, and I have officially started dating," Cynthia said during an interview with The Daily Dish at the time. “I feel like I've been talking about my divorce for a very long time. You know, we've been separated for over a year, and just this whole process has been a lot, just mentally and emotionally, and I'm not saying, 'Yay, I'm so happy to be divorced, but I'm kind of saying, 'Yay, I'm so happy that it's finally over.'"
Mike Hill and Cynthia Bailey were married from 2020 to 2022
Mike and Cynthia’s love story first began in January 2018 when Mike appeared as one of three potential matches for Cynthia on Steve Harvey's talk show. The two went on their first date together soon after, and Cynthia shared on Instagram at the time that Mike was "so sweet and understanding" as she took a business call during their meal.
RHOA fans met Mike in Season 11, and they were introduced to Cynthia and Mike’s couple’s nickname: CHill.
The two got engaged in July 2019, and on October 10, 2019, they announced that they planned to marry exactly one year later on October 10, 2020, dubbing it “the perfect wedding date.” Despite 2020’s COVID-19 threatening to derail their wedding plans, Cynthia and Mike were able to make their dream wedding a reality on the desired date. They tied the knot in front of 250 guests in a stunning ceremony at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia.
The marriage, however, was short-lived: By October 2022, they announced that they were separating. “LOVE is a beautiful thing. While we both will always have love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways,” Cynthia and Mike shared in a statement. “No one is to blame, and we are grateful that we remain good friends. We will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife. Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and we appreciate our family, friends and beloved fans for your positive support as we move forward and start new chapters. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!”
Their divorce was finalized in December 2022. “We are and always will be friends and wish each other well,” Cynthia told TMZ in a statement after news broke.
Is Cynthia Bailey dating anyone today?
In May, Cynthia shared an update on her current relationship status. “Here’s the thing,” she said when speaking to Access Atlanta. “I’m not rushing into anything. However, I do believe that God is moving my steps. And I think that if he has somebody out there for me, he’s moving their steps. And if they come this week and I meet them, it is what it is. If they come in two years, it is what it is. I don’t believe in like, ‘Oh, I need to, like, just be by myself for two years.’ I’m 56 years old. I’m not trying to have a Hot Girl Summer at 60, OK? I gotta get back out there. I can only live with so much grass growing underneath my feet.”
She noted that she does feel ready to enter a new relationship. “I am good, I’ve done a lot of work on myself, I’m continuing to work on myself,” Cynthia shared. “I’m pouring all of my love and energy into myself right now. So I’m excited about the possibility of meeting someone at some point, and sharing some of this good love with them!”
In fact, although she doesn't feel the need to get married again, she is open to it. “[My new relationship] doesn’t have to be a marriage,” she told the outlet. “I’ve been married twice, but I’m not saying I would never get married again. It really honestly just depends on who God has for me this time around.”
