Cynthia Bailey Marries Mike Hill in a Gorgeous Georgia Ceremony
The Real Housewives of Atlanta couple has officially tied the knot.
Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill have officially said "I do!" The Real Housewives of Atlanta couple tied the knot on Saturday, October 10, PEOPLE reports.
Cynthia and Mike wed in front of 250 guests in a stunning ceremony at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia this weekend. "Mike and I are elated that today has finally come! 10/10/20 is and always will be our perfect date. We are not perfect, but, are perfect for each other," Cynthia told PEOPLE on her wedding day. "We are living in a very different time, and now more than ever we realize that life is too short, and to never take anything for granted. We are so grateful to have found each other. Love with the help of God conquers all."
Cynthia and Mike decided to move forward with their wedding on its original date of October 10, 2020, which was first announced exactly one year ago, despite previous concerns that it might need to be postponed amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The couple put many safety precautions in place for their guests, including providing face shields and face masks made by The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin and her daughter, Ally Shapiro, who started the Masks by Jill & Ally company during the pandemic.
“Instead of focusing on the accessories in my hair or what kind of food we’re going to have, Mike and I have been putting most of our wedding energy into COVID-19 protocols,” Cynthia said in an interview with Page Six earlier this week. “And we ain’t playin’ around.”
This is the second marriage for Cynthia and third marriage for Mike. She previously married Peter Thomas in 2010, which was featured in Season 3 of RHOA. The couple divorced in 2017.
The RHOA couple's love story first began in January 2018 when Mike appeared as one of three potential matches for Cynthia on Steve Harvey's talk show. The two went on their first date together soon after, and Cynthia recently recalled on Instagram that Mike was "so sweet and understanding" as she took a business call during their meal.
Before going public with her relationship with Mike in August 2018, Cynthia teased that she was "in love" and that she had found "the one" in a video for BravoTV.com. We later found out that mystery man was Mike, and Cynthia soon introduced him to her loved ones, including daughter Noelle Robinson and her fellow Atlanta Housewives. Cynthia also got to know Mike's daughters, Kayla and Ashleé.
RHOA fans first met Mike in Season 11. Over the past two seasons, we've seen the couple work through some challenges in their relationship, such as being long distance with Cynthia living in Atlanta and Mike based in Los Angeles, as well as Mike opening up about his infidelity in past relationships. However, the two have really shared so many romantic moments on the show, including Mike surprising Cynthia with a proposal in Season 12.
Cynthia had long expressed a desire to tie the knot with Mike even before he popped the question. So, unsurprisingly, in the days leading up to their nuptials, Cynthia was more than ready to finally walk down the aisle. “I feel just as excited and optimistic as I did leading up to my first marriage. What’s different is that I’m different. I’m older, I’m 53 years old. I’m wiser. The only way to learn how to be a wife is to be one, and that was my first experience. I now know what I want and what I don’t want in a relationship, in a marriage," Cynthia told Page Six earlier this week. “For years, I said very publicly that I’d never get married again, but God had other plans. I met Mike Hill!”
