Kyle Richards Reveals the Real Reason She Hasn't Filed for Divorce: "It's Just..."
RHOBH's Kyle Richards also shared why the two "needed" to live together when they first separated.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have been separated for well over a year, but they are still not in a rush to get divorced.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member explained why neither party has filed for divorce during an appearance on the November 11 episode of the Housewives Nightcap podcast.
"It just hasn't felt like any reason, any pressing reason to. And it just, I don't know, feels big and dramatic," Kyle said. "I wish I had a better answer because I actually don't.... I don't know, he moved out, and he does his thing, I do my thing..."
The mom of four also admitted that the prospect of finalizing the split feels "scary."
"If I were to analyze this, it's just kind of scary. But, yeah, I don't know. I think I need a psychologist. All I have to think is we haven't had a 'Oh, we have to,'" Kyle continued. "It's like, we have a big family together, we have homes."
She went on to note that neither she nor Mauricio wants to sell any of their shared properties together (which includes homes in Encino, La Quinta, and Aspen).
Kyle Richards explained why she "needed" to live with Mauricio after their separation
Though Mauricio is now living in a condo of his own, the estranged spouses continued to live together in their Encino home during the first few months of their separation.
Kyle explained why this was necessary during an appearance on the November 11 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.
When host Kelly Ripa pointed out that she wouldn't be able to cohabitate with husband Mark Consuelos if they split, Kyle acknowledged that it was challenging.
"I don't know how we did," Kyle said on the daytime talk series. "I have to say, I am proud of how we navigated through this. It's been hard, in front of the public eye and then cameras rolling and all of that, but it was just important to us to convey to our daughters that, no matter what, that we are a family."
She added that the pair "just needed to do it in baby steps, because [they] do love and care about each other."
"I mean, we got married the same year as you guys. We've been together a very long time, and we get along great," Kyle continued. "He checks in with me daily, and — I don't know, I think it's kind of a weird situation, but it oddly works for us."
