Andy Cohen Finds Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga “Very Refreshing” for *This* Reason
See what the WWHL host had to say after reflecting on the sisters-in-law’s Season 13 drama, and find out where Teresa and Melissa stand today.
Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga certainly weren’t the best of friends throughout The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13, but according to Andy Cohen, there was one major positive about their dynamic.
Andy’s Thoughts on Teresa and Melissa’s Drama
Teresa and Melissa’s Ability to “Coexist”
As the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host recently told E! News, “I thought there was something very refreshing about [Teresa and Melissa] this season coexisting to the point of everyone realizing how much they hated each other. But they were around each other, so I think they can coexist.”
Granted, the sisters-in-law did end on a “pretty negative” note at the three-part RHONJ Season 13 reunion, Andy added.
Teresa and Melissa Both Having “Really Good Points”
The WWHL host spoke more about the drama at the end of May.
“I think [Teresa and Melissa are] both walking around with the institutional knowledge that they both have and the institutional hurt feelings, especially Teresa,” Andy said, acknowledging that the tension between the two has existed for “15 years” at this point. “I think what’s interesting about it is… they’re both a little right. I think they both have really good points, and I think that’s why it’s not so [clear] cut about whose side to be on.”
Where Teresa and Melissa Left Things at the Reunion
As fans may recall, Teresa went into the RHONJ reunion with a specific goal for her relationship with Melissa. “I want to close a chapter and move forward. I wish her well, peace, and that’s what I want, to close that chapter,” Teresa said, later sharing a similar sentiment while discussing her relationship with her brother, Joe Gorga, Melissa’s husband.
So as Part 3 of the reunion came to a conclusion, Andy asked Teresa, “You started the night saying you want peace and to close the door. Is that where you are right now?”
Teresa’s response? “Yes.”
Melissa, meanwhile, delivered a parting message for Teresa. “I definitely feel the hate, right? You see it. It’s clear that I could never please her. I never could, from day one. No matter what I did, it was wrong. And obviously some things never change,” she said before turning to Teresa specifically. “I do love you, no matter what you think. I worry about you.”
As for the future, Melissa added, “I’ll go with the flow — with whatever the family decides to do.”
What Teresa’s Been Up to Since the Reunion
Though Teresa recently took the time to offer an update on her marriage to Luis “Louie” Ruelas, she’s mainly been busy celebrating her daughters. Among the many accomplishments they’ve achieved as of late: Audriana Giudice graduated from eighth grade, Milania Giudice is starting to tour colleges, Gabriella Giudice committed to the University of Michigan, and Gia Giudice received her degree from Rutgers University.
What Melissa’s Been Up to Since the Reunion
Like Teresa, Melissa and Joe have been focused on their family. The couple helped their daughter, Antonia Gorga, attend two (!) proms before she officially graduated from high school, and soon she’ll head to Delaware to begin her college career. Along with Antonia’s two brothers, Gino and Joey, the Gorgas also had a special Father’s Day celebration.
