Fredrik Eklund Opens Up About His “New Chapter”: “The Cat Is Out of the Bag”
The MDLNY and MDLLA alum is “so excited” to be making a major personal and professional move.
Exactly four years after Fredrik Eklund moved from New York City to Los Angeles, in 2019, the real estate agent is preparing to make a new city his home.
Fredrik Eklund reveals he is moving to Miami
In a July 4 Instagram post, the Million Dollar Listing New York and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles alum shared that he is moving to Miami with his family. However, he isn’t planning to sell his stunning Beverly Hills home.
“The cat is out of the bag…. We’re renting out our house in Beverly Hills!” Fredrik captioned his post. “We came to Los Angeles four years ago today and we have so much to thank California for. I’ve built a strong team here and we continue to set records. However, my business is expanding quickly in Miami and the twins got into one of the best schools there for the Fall. [My husband] Derek got a super cool art studio in the Miami Design District too.”
“We’re so [excited] for this new chapter,” he continued. “I do need to be closer to New York where the business is bigger than ever.”
Details on Fredrik Eklund’s Beverly Hills House
When Fredrik, Derek, and their kids, Milla and Freddy, moved to Los Angeles, they rented a jaw-dropping Bel-Air home (watch the video above to check it out) before buying their Beverly Hills house.
“We LOVE this house so much, I will forever cherish these memories with the family,” Fredrik wrote in his recent Instagram caption. “Completely private, [seven] bedrooms and [seven] baths, featured in Architectural Digest and Vogue, we put our hearts into this multi-million dollar renovation and made it colorful and happy.”
Noting “the primary bathroom has [eight] hues of blush marble in it,” he added the house also “comes with an office, a movie cinema with a THX [projector], gym, infrared sauna, cold plunge, pool, hot tub, speakers everywhere, Waterworks fixtures, Apparatus lighting, L’Atelier stove and hood from Paris, [three fireplaces] inside and [one] outdoor fireplace and the best energy you can ever get.”
“It’s truly a zen paradise,” he concluded. “Asking $50,000 per month.”
In a 2021 interview with Architectural Digest, Fredrik opened up about designing the colorful home with his husband. “We love happy, bright colors, we just didn’t know how far we wanted to take it,” he said at the time. “I knew from the beginning that I wanted to push the envelope a little bit, Derek and I fully agreed on that.” Once it was complete, Fredrik was thrilled with the end result. “I sleep better, I wake up a little earlier. And at night time I’m in heaven under the trees in the backyard,” he shared with the outlet. “I feel really zen.”
