Fredrik Eklund Shows Inside His New Pink-Filled Home: “You’re Gonna Be Like ‘Whoa’”

As Fredrik Eklund got settled in his new Beverly Hills home, he teased to BravoTV.com, "It's not what you think it is. You're gonna be like, 'Whoa.'" Of course, the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent was correct. Fredrik and his husband Derek Kaplan recently shared a full look inside the house, and the colorful design is a gorgeous departure from their typically neutral and modern home decor style. 

In an interview with Architectural Digest, Fredrik explained why he moved away from the aesthetic of his "very gray...sleek" former NYC apartment and a different “white and boring” former home. “We love happy, bright colors, we just didn’t know how far we wanted to take it,” he told AD. “I knew from the beginning that I wanted to push the envelope a little bit, Derek and I fully agreed on that."

The photos, which you can see here, show the sitting room with bright pops of yellow and pink, the dining room with a "fluorescent, insane" table, a bathroom with gold accents, and the backyard featuring olive trees and a meditation corner. 

The home also has a major first for Fredrik and Derek's twins, Milla and Freddy: their own bedrooms. According to AD, Freddy requested a blue closet, while Milla requested a pink one of her own. With that in mind, Fredrik and Derek gave their little ones beautiful bedrooms that are decorated in their favorite color from floor to ceiling. 

Now that it's complete, Fredrik is "very, very happy" with his family's "forever home." He explained: “I sleep better, I wake up a little earlier. And at night time I’m in heaven under the trees in the backyard. I feel really zen.”
