Ashley Darby Grew New “Long” Chin Hairs and She Blames Dermaplaning
The Real Housewives of Potomac mom tried the popular technique for removing facial hair — but she’s not so happy with the results.
“I’m stressing a little bit,” Ashley Darby said in a recent Instagram Story. And before you ask what was getting her down, rest assured: The Real Housewives of Potomac mama filled her followers in on all the hairy details. And we do mean hairy.
Here’s what happened: Ashley was putting lipstick on in her car when she noticed that her makeup was caking around her mouth. Curious about what was causing said caking, Ashley looked into the issue, peering closely at her reflection in the mirror. And she was shook to find that long hairs were the culprit.
“I’ve always had a little ’stache,” she confessed with her trademark candor. “But no! This is long hair, on my chin and on my lip!” That’s not to say that Ashley has put no effort toward her chin-and-lip-hair maintenance.
Ashley is one of many Bravolebrities who have tried dermaplaning. In case you’re not familiar: Dermaplaning is a practice dermatologists and licensed medical aestheticians use to remove dead skin from the surface of your face using a surgical scalpel. And Ashley is no stranger to the scrapes.
“I do get dermaplaning,” Ashley continued in her Story. “I’ve been getting dermaplaning for the last three months. I am due. It’s the time of the month where I’m supposed to get a facial this week and I will get a dermaplane. But whoever said that hair does not grow back thicker after you shave it lied!”
Meanwhile, Ashley has shown the receipts for her commitment to skincare. The former beauty queen has opened up about her affinity for getting gua sha facials, which she has likened to “a natural facelift.”
And in an Instagram Story from 2021, Ashley revealed the one skincare product she couldn’t live without during her pregnancy: Noy Skincare Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn ($40).
“Oh my gosh! It has transformed my skin in a way that I cannot tell you,” Ashley said of the all-in-one cleanser, exfoliator, and moisturizer. “I haven’t had hardly any pimples — if I do, it’s a one-off. My skin feels moisturized even with this winter weather, even with my hormone fluctuation. This oil has been a straight-up godsend. I purchased this. I am not sponsored. And it was the best decision ever,” she said at the time.
