Teresa Giudice Opens Up About Why She Decided to Sell Her House

For Teresa Giudice, putting her iconic home on the market was far from a simple decision. "It's hard for me to sell the house," The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member said on the show's March 3 episode. "[My ex-husband] Joe [Giudice] and I built the house together, we raised our four daughters in that home."

However, Teresa feels confident about her choice to eventually move on from the abode. "I am ready for a new beginning," she explained. "I'm looking for a fresh start."

In July 2020, just two months before news broke that she was selling the house, Teresa made big changes to the property with interior designer Jimmy DeLaurentis. "She was like, 'My house needs a lot of work, it's dark, it's filled with old Italian stuff, Joe is gone,'" DeLaurentis told E! at the time. "She was just like, 'I need to feel lighter in this house.' It's a huge house, everything was doom and gloom and dark, and she had memories of a lot of stuff and she just wanted to brighten it up."

"She took me through the house room by room, and she said, 'You see this, this needs to go,' and it's a monster house," he added. "She wanted a whole new feel. And I said the first thing you got to do is lighten up all these walls, and the windows had these big heavy drapes. She called a painter that day and the painters were there, and I walked the painters through the house that very same day."

Teresa is expecting the home, which boasts a spacious kitchen, glam living room, and tricked-out gym, to sell for top-dollar. "Is she gonna list your house for what you want her to list it for?" Margaret Josephs asked during the episode, referencing Teresa's realtor. Without missing a beat, Teresa replied, "Yeah, she better."
