Candiace Dillard Bassett Posts Very Real Photo of How She’s Settling Into Mom Life at Home
The Real Housewives of Potomac alum is showing off how she's handling life as a first-time mom.
Candiace Dillard Bassett is settling into mom life weeks after she gave birth to her first baby. The Real Housewives of Potomac alum welcomed her first child — a son named Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett — on Oct. 3 and has been quiet when it comes to sharing too much of her life as a new mom.
But Candiace did just give some new insight into how slightly chaotic mom life can be inside of her beautiful home that she shares with her husband, Chris Bassett. The "Drive Back" singer took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Nov. 20, where she posted a video in which she's wearing a nursing bra and shorts, with her son strapped to her chest in a baby carrier, while standing in the middle of her living room.
In the snapshot, Candiace showed off her couch, with pillows, clothes, and other objects strewn across it, her water bottle placed on the floor, and a pregnancy pillow sitting in front of the mirror. Candiace's face in the mirror picture says it all — she looks just slightly tired but so in love with her new addition.
"Come clean this living room!" Candiace captioned the photo with Jett.
Although she has so much to do, the new mom is still finding the time to spend with her son. Shortly after posting the look into her living room, Candiace then sat on her couch with Jett on her shoulder as she complained about the lack of cold weather in a video, posted to her Instagram Story. "What do you think, Jett?" she asked her son, who gurgled in response.
Candiace Dillard Bassett can't wait to go on "adventures" with baby Jett
Candiace sat down with People one month after giving birth, where she said that she is so excited for their future together, now that Jett is finally here. "I just look at him and envision all the adventures we're going to have," she said.
"Throughout my pregnancy, when I would talk to him in my stomach, I would say, 'I can't wait to see who you're going to be.' And that's been the joy in my heart that's continued after his birth," she continued. "It's exciting to think about. I'm so ready for a lifetime of being on the sidelines, cheering him on."
Does Candiace Dillard Bassett want more kids?
Chris is already the father to three kids from two previous relationships, and Candiace has proudly been a "bonus mom" to them, according to People. But she is ready for to have more kids, and wish she started having them sooner.
"Oh, I wish I started sooner, because I already want more," she told the publication. "And that's a shocking feeling to admit because I hesitated and was afraid and doubted myself for so long...I wish I hadn't waited so long. But I also don't regret that this is where I am now and that things worked out the way they did."
