Here’s What Jennifer Fessler Doesn’t “Get” About RHONJ Parties

The Real Housewives of New Jersey newcomer is a bit perplexed about one particular trend at cast events.

Whether it’s over-the-top charcuterie boards, jaw-dropping decor, or next-level dessertsThe Real Housewives of New Jersey cast members tend to pull out all the stops when hosting parties. However, there’s one recurring trend at the Garden State ladies’ recent events that newcomer Jennifer Fessler doesn’t quite understand.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

On the March 28 episode of RHONJ, Jennifer arrived at Rachel Fuda’s shore house for a group brunch and saw a woman in a mermaid costume posing on an inflatable shell while holding a round inflatable pearl-like bubble. After Teresa Giudice’s housewarming party, which had a dancer in a bubble in the pool, Jennifer had some questions.

“I don’t get, like, the extras at the party,” Jennifer said in an episode interview. “I don’t get, like, Teresa’s got the woman in the bubble, Rachel’s got the mermaid holding the bubble. I don’t know why they’re all looking for Disney characters at their parties.” After the episode showed Jennifer posing for a photo with the mermaid, Jennifer admitted in her interview, “Listen, it’s working.”

In her own episode interview, Rachel explained her approach to hosting events at her home. “I go above and beyond for everything in every aspect of my life, even planning parties,” she said. “Honestly, I just think I’m a perfectionist in, like, a bad way. I like to make it more of, like, an experience, have entertainment.”

Having catered food, however, feels like a necessity to Rachel. “To be honest, I can’t have [my husband] John Fuda on the grill,” she said with a laugh. “We’ll be eating charcoal patties for lunch.”

On the March 21 episode of the show, Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga also hosted a party at their shore house. And while there were no bubbles in sight, there were, of course, some other over-the-top details, including “gorgeous food,” cigars, and a photo booth.
