There’s another Atlanta peach on the way!
Four-time Olympic gold medalist and The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Sanya Richards-Ross is expecting her second child with her husband, Aaron Ross, she confirmed to People on July 27.
The couple, who wed in 2010 after meeting when they were both students at the University of Texas, are already the parents of a 6-year-old son named Aaron Jermaine Ross II, aka “Deuce.”

Sanya Richards-Ross’ Due Date
The Rosses are preparing for quite a Christmas present this year, as Sanya is due on December 25, 2023.
“It’s going to be the best Christmas gift ever, but I just couldn’t be happier and more clear about. I know I can do this. I’ve done it before. I have the support. I know what to expect,” she told People. “I’m so ready to meet this little one.”
To commemorate the exciting pregnancy news, Sanya and her family did a photo shoot (you can check out the images in this post).
“I’ve never felt more beautiful,” Sanya said about the images. “Just so happy to have these pictures to mark this time in my life. It’s been a hard journey getting here, but I am so glad for the obstacles ’cause they made me that much stronger.”
Sanya Richards-Ross’ Journey to Baby No. 2
Since she joined the RHOA cast in Season 14, Sanya has been open about her mixed emotions regarding expanding her family.
During her first season on the show, Sanya and Aaron went back and forth about whether having a second child would be the right next step for their family (and for their marriage).
“I feel like we have this big dream for our family, and I, too, want to have more children, but I feel like it’s a dream. Like, what is realistic for the Rosses, you know? I struggle with it, because I literally feel like I’m going to explode,” Sanya told her husband on Episode 8 of Season 14 back in 2022. “Like, even having 10 people here, I don’t feel like I get the kind of support that allows me to be my best.”
On the finale, it was revealed that “Sanya removed her IUD” because “she and Ross are actively trying for baby number deuce.”
Fast-forward to Season 15, and Sanya was trying to get pregnant as her extended family disagreed about the future of their combined living arrangement. In February 2023, Sanya spoke to The Bump about why it was important for her to reveal her true feelings about having another baby on the show.
“I shared my story of struggling to want to have another child, and I was pleasantly surprised by the response from women all around the world who reached out and shared how they appreciated me talking about this,” she told the outlet. “And it’s a hard thing to talk about.”
When Aaron and Sanya welcomed their son, the stresses of new parenthood took a toll on their marriage. After getting back to a strong place, Sanya wondered whether the same thing would happen if they chose to have another baby.
“It feels like a very selfish thing, but it’s not,” Sanya said. “I think it’s very mature to know what your capacity is and to be brave enough to stand in that truth. My husband and I are trying for a second one this time, and I’m in a much better place and our family is in a great place.”
