Sanya Richards-Ross Shares an Emotional Update on Her Living Situation: “It Hasn’t Been Easy”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member explained why she’s having a change of heart about her family’s living arrangement.
Throughout Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sanya Richards-Ross and her husband, Aaron Ross, have continued to work through their different feelings about their living situation.
As RHOA viewers know, several of Sanya’s family members live with her, Aaron, and their son. On Season 15 Episode 2, Aaron told Sanya, “It’s time to be on our own,” but Sanya felt there was no rush to have her sister, brother-in-law, nephews, and parents move out. However, by Episode 11, which aired on July 23, Sanya shared that her opinion on the matter had changed.
Sanya Richards-Ross gives an update on her living situation
“It’s just hard because I think just as my family dynamic is changing, I think I keep trying to hold on to this old dynamic that I have to figure out how to let go,” Sanya tearfully told her castmates during the episode while explaining recent tensions with her sister. “It hasn’t been easy for me to navigate it. But I think I have to just f-cking grow up.”
In conclusion, she stated, “I don’t think the dynamics of our family will change too much, but I do think we probably don’t need to be in the same house much longer.”
Previously, Sanya had expressed why it was important to her to have her family continue living with her. “I don’t want to be selfish, but I can be in Atlanta on Monday, and New York on Friday, and L.A. on Sunday, and knowing that my son is always at home, always has someone that’s family, that I know loves him so much. It works so well for me,” she explained in an interview on Season 15 Episode 6.
In the video above, Sanya shows BravoTV.com the beautifully furnished basement where most of her family sleeps. “I love this area, this space. My entire family lives here: my mom, my dad, my sister, my nephews,” she says in the clip. “My mom also decorated this space. You can see a lot of the Jamaican inspiration.”
