Fredrik Eklund Welcomes Twins
The Million Dollar Listing New York agent is officially a dad.
We bet Fredrik Eklund is doing the biggest high kick of his life right about now. The Million Dollar Listing New York agent welcomed twins, a son and a daughter, via surrogate on Tuesday.
Fredrik shared the happy news on Instagram Tuesday. "Happiest moment of my life," the MDLNY agent captioned a photo of himself and husband Derek Kaplan holding their newborn son and daughter. "Welcome Fredrick and Milla to the world."
Fredrik previously revealed the names he picked out for his twins: Milla for his daughter and Freddie Jr. for his son. Fredrik has long planned to name his daughter Milla, and Freddie Jr. was Derek's idea, he shared with The Daily Dish in August.
The road to fatherhood has been a long one for Fredrik, who has opened up about his difficult journey to become a parent over the years on MDLNY. We've seen him share his candid conversations with Derek about wanting to have a baby, the challenges of finding an egg donor and surrogate, and their two miscarriages.
After these hardships, Fredrik revealed that he and Derek (who is already father to son Kai) were going to try to start a family again with a new egg donor, a new surrogate, and a new doctor last season of MDLNY. However, Fredrik chose not to share too much about his baby plans before he and Derek got the news that they were expecting twins in the Season 6 finale of MDLNY. "I don't know what's going to happen to me when I hold them finally," Fredrik shared with The Daily Dish in August. "I don't even know what's going to happen to me. I can't even grasp. For us, since we're two men, and we have this wonderful surrogate and we have so many people that love in our family, but it's been a little bit abstract at times. So, for us, when we hold them, I think everything's going to change again."
Since announcing the happy news, Fredrik has let fans into his preparation for bringing home baby, from decorating the nursery to buying baby clothes to posting a glorious photo of his surrogate's baby bump. Fredrik shared with The Daily Dish earlier this month that his surrogate has even been living with the MDLNY couple in the weeks leading up to the birth of their twins.
