Mia Thornton Shares Something Shocking About Her and Gordon's Financial Situation: "It's True"

Mia Thornton's marital issues with Gordon Thornton have been at the forefront of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8, and the spouses ultimately confirmed their separation in September 2023.

During a group lunch outing in the Dominican Republic on Episode 14, the RHOP ladies began to discuss Ashley Darby's separation from Michael Darby. Mia wondered if Ashley was hesitant to finalize her divorce because Michael is "helping [her] financially."
Dr. Wendy Osefo then asked Mia if she was "with Gordon for financial reasons," and the mom of three shared a surprising answer.
"Now, did I have more money when I was coming into the relationship with Gordon? Yes," Mia told the rest of the group, much to their surprise. "But mine was on inheritance."
She added, "People are going to think what they want to think, regardless, because I'm young and beautiful, and he's an older guy, so we let people think what they want to think."
In an interview on the episode, Mia clarified her comment.
"Oh, dear lord. I can't even believe I said that, but it's true. But, I can't believe I said it," she shared. "OK, so there's a difference between cash and assets. So, at that time, did I have more cash in the bank than [Gordon] did? Yes, abso-freaking-lutely."
Is Mia Thornton divorced from Gordon Thornton?
Back in December 2023, Mia discussed all of the details surrounding her separation from Gordon on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"We're separated," Mia confirmed to host Andy Cohen, noting that the two had actually gone their separate ways in June of 2023.
She said that their financial issues "had a lot to do" with their split, and that they came to the decision mutually.
"I just think that it's a sequence of events over the past couple of years that put a strain on the marriage," Mia added. She also shared that she's been co-parenting well with Gordon.
Who is Mia Thornton dating?
Since her separation, Mia has gone public with a new romance. She's now in a relationship with Atlanta-based radio host Incognito. On New Year’s Eve 2023, the new couple soft-launched their relationship on Instagram.
