Josh and Heather Altman Were *Almost* on Different Sides of Josh Flagg and Bobby Boyd’s Divorce
The MDLLA spouses agree on most things in life and in real estate — but Josh Flagg’s divorce wasn’t one of them.
When Josh Altman joined the cast of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles in Season 4, two things were certainties: He would close deals on multimillion-dollar properties, and he would disagree with Josh Flagg along the way.
The cast members’ rivalry spanned several seasons of the show, and longtime fans were surprised when their competition turned friendly and they ultimately became pals.
As Altman and Flagg went from frenemies to best of friends, their significant others, Heather Altman and Bobby Boyd, respectively, grew closer as well — especially when the couples filmed Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles: Josh and Josh together.
When Josh Flagg and Bobby announced their split on Instagram in March 2022, Heather and Josh Altman found themselves in a somewhat difficult position.
Viewers will get to see exactly how the spouses handled their friends’ divorce news on MDLLA Season 14, but the Altmans spoke with The Daily Dish ahead of the December 8 premiere about why it was “difficult” for both of them.
Heather noted that the split was a first for her and her husband, as they had never been close with “both parties” of a divorcing couple before.
“This was challenging to navigate. You feel like you’re doing something wrong when you’re hanging out with the other person,” Heather explained, adding that her “allegiance is with Bobby” and that “it was really difficult to kind of go through in the beginning.”
When the split was still fresh, Heather worried that she would have to “choose sides,” which would have put her in a tough spot, as she works with her husband and Josh Flagg at Douglas Elliman.
“You could see that some feelings were hurt, and there was definitely a moment where we had to figure out if we were going to have to choose sides. Then we were going to be a split household at that time,” Heather said, before laughing. “That was causing some conflict at home as well. But it’s never easy, and honestly, it depends on the day where Flagg and Bobby are at as they dissolve their relationship. That also adds a little fuel to the fire, if it’s a good or bad day for them.”
“It’s real life,” her husband added. “Tons of people get divorced, and tons of couples [who] are friends with them go through this. It’s just kind of navigating through it.”
While there were inevitable difficulties for the spouses to handle in the wake of their friends’ split, Josh Altman noted that he grew even closer to Josh Flagg during that time. “It took our relationship to another level,” he said about “being part of [the divorce] with him, and going through the motions” of it.
The younger Altman brother teased that he was “surprised” by how much “access” both Josh Flagg and Bobby gave when sharing details about their split on the show. “They went for it,” Josh Altman concluded.
As the Season 14 trailer revealed, Bobby and Josh Flagg will work on one final co-list together, and the latter will introduce viewers to his new boyfriend, Andrew Beyer. Fans will have to tune in to find out how it all unfolds.
