Here's Why Lisa Barlow Is Celebrating Her Son Jack: "I Can't Wait for You to Come Home!"
The RHOSLC mom shared a touching tribute for her son amid his two-year Mormon mission to Colombia.
Lisa Barlow’s “angel baby” is all grown up.
After months of separation from her oldest son, Jack, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City mom returned to Instagram to celebrate the young man’s 20th birthday. Lisa marked the milestone with a series of throwback photos documenting everything from Jack’s senior prom night and high school graduation to his business ventures and his family vacation to Monaco.

“My Sunshine! [Jack Barlow] How are you 20!” Lisa captioned the October 20 post. “I love you beyond words Jack! You have surpassed any and all wishes I could have for you I love how independent you are I [love] your ambition and your heart I love our friendship and that we can talk about anything. I learn from you every day I can’t wait for you to come home! You’re my world.”
But Lisa wasn’t done. She upped the cuteness factor with a grip of photos from Jack’s toddler and early childhood years.
“Happy birthday my sunshine,” she captioned a Story of a much younger Jack.
Lisa’s husband, John Barlow, also celebrated his son’s golden birthday with some family photos and a heartfelt message.
“Jack Barlow is 20 (officially on 10/20/24)!!!” he captioned the carousel. “It’s crazy to say this. He is such a blessing as a son. I can’t say it enough that I am beyond proud of him. Keep growing, learning and being you, Jack. I love you and Happy Birthday!”
Lisa reflects on Jack's Mormon mission
Jack turned the big 2-0 amid his two-year Mormon mission to Colombia. The Salt Lake City son began the volunteer service in the summer of 2023, just several months after graduating from high school. Lisa spoke about her son’s decision in RHOSLC Season 4, recalling the moment Jack told her about his mission plans.
“He sits down next to me and just starts bawling,” Lisa recalled in an episode interview. “And I’m like, ‘What’s going on, Jack?!’ He’s like, ‘Mom, it’s gonna be OK because I decided to go on a mission.’
“A mission is devoting two years of your life to serving others and teaching people about Jesus Christ,” she explained. “So Jack’s giving up two years of his life to basically help everyone but himself.”
Lisa says Jack is "obsessed" with Colombia
Aside from his health issue in late 2023, Jack's South American mission has apparently gone well. Lisa shed more light on her son’s experience in RHOSLC Season 5, Episode 3, saying Jack was “obsessed” with Colombia.
“I miss him like crazy every day,” she said in an interview. “The only way we get to communicate is Facebook messages and phone calls once a week. I love hearing him grow, and just seeing his priorities change and just for him to still be like, ‘Cool Jack,’ but with a purpose.”
