Kim Zolciak-Biermann Reveals Son Kash Recently Had Another Surgery Related to the Dog Bite Incident
The Don't Be Tardy mom got emotional about her son's latest procedure stemming from the 2017 accident.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann's son Kash recently underwent another surgery related to the dog bite incident three years ago.
Kim revealed that Kash, 8, had reconstructive surgery in November for the injury he sustained after being bitten on the face by the family's dog Sinn in 2017, which the family shared in Season 6 of Don't Be Tardy (above).
"I waited to share this story until my baby was healed! Kash is such a trooper the toughest, bravest little boy I have ever met. Last month Kash had reconstructive surgery from the dog bite 3 years ago," Kim wrote in a post published on Instagram on December 30. "We knew the night of the bite/surgery that he most likely would need another surgery in the future to correct the injury. It was pretty severe and due to the severity of the swelling that night our plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph Williams (the best) did the very best he could."
Kim had previously shared on Instagram in February of this year that Kash had visited the plastic surgeon for the "first time... since right after the dog bite."
Even though that accident occurred more than three years ago, Kim said that memories of that most trying time came rushing back for the family during Kash's most recent surgery. "I’ll never forget that day as long as I live and as much as we thought we 'put it in the back of our minds' when Kash came out of surgery this time it hit Kroy [Biermann] and I pretty hard. Not only us but Kash and KJ as well," Kim wrote. "We had a rough couple days. Kroy and I cried many many times [alongside] Kash. We sat in the plastic [surgeon's] parking lot (only one parent could go in and I knew Kroy could handle it better than me) but when Kash/Kroy came out and sat in the backseat with Kash on his lap and tears streamed down both their faces, I could barely breathe. My heart was broken that we even had to go through all this again."
Given the difficult time that she and her family were having with "bad memories and feelings," Kim said that they "really needed prayers" and help from close friends. So, Kim sent a message to her friend, personal trainer Michael Giovanni Rivera, to see if Conor McGregor, who is "Kash’s all time favorite fighter," according to the Don't Be Tardy mom, "could send an encouraging message to Kash to keep him strong. Anything to make my baby happy."
Well, the MMA fighter did end up sending Kash a motivational message, which Kim shared on Instagram. "Conor’s video had me in tears I could barely speak, I mean it’s CONOR MCGREGOR but it was also his MESSAGE," Kim wrote in her post. "[There] are no [words] express my gratitude [to] not only Gio, but Conor, my supportive husband, our surgeon, my family & friends."
Fortunately, it didn't take long for Kash to be as good as new. Kim remembered what her son said to her one morning three days after his surgery. "He looked right into my eyes and said, 'Mom I feel great!'" she recalled in the post. "I knew we were on the road to recovery."
Kim shared several photos of Kash's recovery in her Instagram post, including one (the last pic featured in the collection) that was taken at his big brother KJ's basketball game about two weeks after the surgery, a moment that made the Don't Be Tardy mom "cry." "I realized how incredible he looks and how blessed we are to have Dr. Williams and so many others that truly care," Kim wrote.
