Mary Cosby Shares Good News About Her Son Robert Jr.: "He's Working on Himself"
RHOSLC's Mary Cosby also opened up about her decision to share her and Robert Jr.'s journey on Season 5.
Mary Cosby is opening up about how her son Robert Cosby Jr. is doing following a "heavy" Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
The mom of one has highlighted her relationship with her only child throughout the season, and during a chat with Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea podcast on November 19, she confirmed that he's doing much better today.
"Robert is steady," Mary told the outlet. "He's steady, which for me is healthy, and he's doing good."
What's more, "He's working on [himself] on telling lies. He's working on himself being honest with me and not trying to deceive me," Mary continued. "And that right there — I think those little changes has better[ed] our relationship because, you know, that's more trust, more love, and loving me in the right way, not taking advantage of Mom because I'm weak to him and he knows it."
Mary also spoke about how Robert is "doing good" with Us Weekly.
"It's a heavy topic," she shared with the publication. "But for me, because it all just came at once on me and I didn’t expect it, but I’m taking it day by day."
Why Mary Cosby is sharing her son Robert Jr.'s story on RHOSLC
In the same interview, Mary shared that more of Robert's story will be shown on Season 5. "It gets worse before it gets better, and you guys will see that all come out. And it's so heartfelt, and it's real. It's our real life..." she explained. "It was a breaking point... It shocked me."
Though Robert's past struggles will be difficult for Mary to relive, she hopes that his story will help viewers.
"I think it's gonna make families stronger, and it brings a realness to a relationship, in any relationship," Mary said.
Does Robert Jr. still live at home with his mom, Mary Cosby?
Robert Jr. and his wife have long been residing in the Utah home Mary shares with her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., but Mary told Us Weekly that the couple may be moving in the near future.
"He told me the other day, 'Mom, I'm going to get my own place.' And I said, 'Well, how are you going to pay for it?'" Mary recalled. "Because it was his birthday [recently], he goes, 'I'm going to use my birthday money.' I said, 'You don’t even get life babe.' He goes, 'No, it’s a down payment' and I [asked], 'The down payment on what?' He goes. 'A house.'"
