Katie Flood and Malia White Explain their Relationship Following Their Below Deck Med Days
The Winter House-mates shared why they "pretty much are dating."
As the saying goes, the best ships are friendships — which Below Deck Mediterranean alums Malia White and Katie Flood know all too well.
During their time together on Season 5 of Below Deck Med, the yachties became besties. They've remained close ever since, and in the first few moments of the Winter House Season 3 premiere, which will air on October 24, Katie and Malia clarify their relationship status, as well as reveal a surprising update on their respective work situations.

Malia White and Katie Flood's Friendship and Working Relationship
During the opening minutes of Episode 1 of Winter House Season 3, which you can check out by watching the video at the top of this post, a producer asks the twosome to "Tell [her] about your relationship."
"That's a good word, relationship," Malia responds with a laugh. "Because that's basically what we're in."
Katie agrees, adding, "Yeah, it's definitely codependency at this point."
In addition to being best friends, Katie and Malia have continued to "work together" following their Below Deck Med Season 5 days.
"We share an office, we share a cabin," Malia continues. "When we're not on the boat, we live in an apartment. Like, we pretty much are dating without the sex."
As they both added, they're still interested in getting to know new guys. Will either of them strike up a love connection on Winter House Season 3?
What to Expect from Malia White and Katie Flood on Winter House Season 3
Per the official press release for Winter House Season 3, both Katie and Malia are hoping to strike up romantic connections while spending time in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Malia's bio reads, "After a long-term relationship and seven-month dry spell, yachtie Malia White (Below Deck Mediterranean) is looking for some action off the water and is ready to showcase her old stomping grounds of Colorado to the rest of the group."
As for Katie, she's forming a bond with someone unexpected during the ski trip.
"Single and ready to mingle, Malia's bestie Katie Flood (Below Deck Mediterranean) has spent the better part of the past decade traveling the world, making connections wherever she goes," her bio reads. "However, when she finds herself connecting with someone in the house who is the opposite of her usual type, she wonders if she’ll be able to handle such a sensitive guy."
