Josh Flagg May Have Just Found His Next House — But There’s One Major "Caveat" (PICS)

The MDLLA agent is interested in buying a $16,995,000 "turn-key" home, but there's something about the listing he can't move past.

The world of real estate — especially Los Angeles real estate — can be tricky. Sometimes, the price just isn't right.

How to Watch

Watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

During Season 15, Episode 5 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Josh Flagg continued his search for his next home after buying a dilapidated $9.2 million property sight unseen. While he came across a house that piqued his interest, there were two immediate issues: the price was high, and the listing agent was Josh Altman, who Flagg hadn't been on the best terms with.

"I was looking at three in the morning, surfing the MLS in bed, stumbled upon it and I was like, 'Hmm, this is really nice.' Then I took a look at the agent and go, 'Hmm, this is not so nice,'" Flagg quipped during the August 7 episode. "Before I can commit to selling Bedford, I need to buy a different house. I know it makes no sense whatsoever. It's all mental. But half of the sh-t in my brain makes no sense."

With that in mind, Flagg went to see Altman's $16,995,000 listing in Trousdale Estates. Although Flagg was impressed by the 6,200 square foot residence with incredible finishes, he wasn't quite as into the price.

"Is there a huge appeal to a turn-key house that would still look good with some of my classic furniture and pieces of art? Yeah. I could make his work and I could make it really, really beautiful. One caveat: I'm not paying $17 million for it," he explained in a confessional.

Later, he expanded on his statement.

"This is not a 17 million dollar house," he said. "It has an obstructed view, it's got a small backyard. If you look at the house I sold across the street, that was 1000 square feet bigger [and sold for $15 million]."

Listed at $16,995,000, the house featured five bedrooms, a movie theater, and a temperature controlled wine cellar ... plus a Versace table setting that Flagg valued at around $15,000 (even though he didn't love the style).

"A house like Chalette is wasted on Altman. It's just not his taste level," Flagg continued. "It's far above it."

Another issue?

"It's dead quiet, which is great. Or maybe it would drive me crazy," Flagg joked while looking out at the gorgeous view.

While the house itself had great finishes, Flagg wasn't super into the decor.

"I like the white oak, I like the blonde wood, I like the steel and iron windows and doors, I like that it's bright, I like the floor plan," he explained. On the other hand? "I don't like the bedspread, I don't like any furniture in that house whatsoever. Contrary to what Altman thinks my taste is."

Why is this an issue, you might ask? Well, the sellers were hoping to get rid of everything when they sold the property, custom furniture included.

Details on Josh Flagg's $9.2 million home purchase

During Episode 3 of Season 15, fans got a look inside the house Flagg purchased, which he thought was his dream home.

However, once he finally stepped inside, he was shocked to find the condition the house was in.

"Long story short, it was completely gutted," Flagg explained to Altman during Episode 6. "The bottom line is, I want to find something done and turn-key."

Later in the episode, Flagg and Tracy Tutor (who was representing him) went to Altman's office to put in an offer — for $13.3 million.

So, is Chalette his new chateau? Tune into MDLLA on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c to find out. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
