Jessel Taank Claps Back After Brynn Whitfield Calls Her a "Forgettable" Housewife

Brynn was "served" after Jessel Taank responded to Brynn calling her "the runt of the litter."

By Jax Miller

Look out! The Real Housewives of New York City’s Jessel Taank has a voice, and she’s not afraid to use it.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City on October 1st at 9/8c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

The fashion publicist and mother of two sat as part of the live audience on the Sunday, September 24, 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, with New York Housewife Brynn Whitfield appearing as the show’s guest. But it was during the WWHL After Show when the Real Housewife threw some real shade at Brynn, who tried clarifying some not-so-nice comments she made about Jessel previously this season.

Jessel Taank Responds to Brynn Whitfield on WWHL

WWHL viewers asked Brynn about the multiple times she referred to Jessel as “forgettable” on the new season of RHONY. One person asked whether she’d heard back from Jessel since making the comments on the Housewives’ girls’ trip to Anguilla.

“What’s up with that?” Jessel, who attended the taping, asked from the audience.

Brynn admitted she had called Jessel “forgettable” but said it might have been taken out of context.

“I didn’t mean forgettable in the sense that she’s actually forgettable,” Brynn explained. “It’s just like, it’s funny. Whenever we’re together, Jessel’s always the one that kind of gets left out?”

Trying to collect her thoughts, Brynn added that she found it to be “cute.”

“She’s like the little puppy that is kind of the runt of the litter, and it’s sweet,” Brynn continued.

Brynn repeated she found it “cute,” as Andy quizzically tilted his head, and Jessel wondered aloud whether the comment was “a good thing.” It was a literal face-palm moment for Brynn as Andy condensed Brynn’s statements for Jessel.

“How does all this land?” Andy asked Jessel. “You’re not forgettable; you’re the runt of the litter.”

Apparently, it didn’t land well with Jessel because she spat fire in her response.

“Andy, I was to your right, wasn’t I?” Jessel asked, repeating the response over the crowd’s laughter.

Jessel was referring to the RHONY Season 14 reunion seating chart, where it was announced she would sit directly to Andy’s right, with Brynn and Ubah Hassan following. To Andy’s left, in descending order, was Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, and Sai De Silva.

Brynn oohed at Jessel’s shade, calling her remark a “burn.”

“Well, if being forgettable gets you to Andy’s best side, then I’ll be forgettable,” Jessel clapped back as audience members cheered.

Brynn raised her hands and made a bowing motion from her seat, saying she’d been “served.”

“She makes a good point,” the WWHL host agreed.

RHONY Season 14 Reunion Teases

The Housewives laughed at the live back and forth, and it seemed to be a case of no harm, no foul. However, Brynn discussed the seating plans, where the P.R. consultant was assigned to sit between Jessel and Ubah.

“But, also, middle’s the new first, baby,” said Brynn, to which Jessel laughed.

That would also be the case for Jenna, the other Housewife “holding down the middle,” according to Andy. The host touched on the recent reunion filming, calling the session “exciting.”

“I had fun; were we not supposed to have fun?” Brynn asked. “I had fun, and I wasn’t even on anything this time.”

Andy responded he was “glad” Brynn had a good time.

There have been a small handful of reunion teasers since filming wrapped, including when Erin claimed she’d be the one to land in the reunion hot seat.

On the July 16, 2023 episode of WWHL, all but Erin agreed she’d have the most to answer for at the reunion.
