Jesse Solomon Opens Up About Sharing His Cancer Journey on Summer House: "It's Scary"
The Summer House newcomer spoke to The Daily Dish about his "really supportive" castmates as he navigated a health scare.
Jesse Solomon is opening up about sharing his cancer journey with his Summer House Season 8 castmates.
When we first met the Hamptons newcomer, his BravoTV.com bio noted he had a "big milestone coming up at the end of summer." After getting to know the investor relations businessman, it was revealed that the milestone was a health check-up for Jesse, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer at age 24 in 2017 and again in 2018, when he found out the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes.
Jesse had been cancer-free since, but on Season 8, Episode 12, he expressed his fears as he was preparing for an appointment with his doctor. "I just wanna be healthy," Jesse emotionally revealed to West Wilson during the episode.
More recently, Jesse opened up to The Daily Dish about going through the emotional experience with his housemates.
"When I was out there crying with West [...] it feels good to feel, even though it's scary," Jesse said in the May 8 interview. "I'm very sentimental [...] but with my own life I try to be very pragmatic."

Jesse Solomon reveals more details about his cancer journey on the Summer House After Show
On the Summer House After Show, Jesse shared more about his cancer journey, including how his Hamptons roommates supported him around that check-up.
After West revealed in the After Show clip how "antsy" he was to hear the results of Jesse's appointment, Jesse clarified why he initially felt he had to keep his friends in the dark about the details.
"They started squeezing me in for these ultrasound appointments and I didn't want to worry everyone," Jesse shared, causing West to reflect on the waiting game he and his castmates had to play in the meantime.
"I had gotten the blood tests and everything done before, so I was just supposed to show up [and] the doctor does his physical exam and you're good to go," Jesse explained. After noting that the doctor felt something questionable during the exam, he was ordered to get "more tests," as viewers saw on Episode 13.
Through the stressful time, Jesse told The Daily Dish he was "super grateful" for his housemates.
"It just felt really good to have friends like that [who] show that they care," he said. "I just felt lucky to have them."
