Here's What Gizelle Bryant Has to Say About Her Williamsburg Drama with Dr. Wendy Osefo
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member explains why she didn't say much amid the girls' trip conflict.
The Real Housewives of Potomac girls' trip to Williamsburg kicked off with a tense dinner for Gizelle Bryant and Dr. Wendy Osefo, and things only got even more dramatic for the pair in the August 22 episode.
Ashley Darby, who arrived later to the vacation, tried to smooth things over by pulling Wendy aside and sharing that there were some questions about the recent changes in her appearance being due to rumors circulating about her husband, Eddie Osefo. Wendy wondered why Ashley was the one to bring this information to her and not Gizelle.
So, when Wendy returned to where the rest of the group had been hanging out, she confronted Gizelle and had a lot to say about the situation. "Instead of you coming to me as a woman, you decide to talk to Ashley," Wendy told Gizelle. "And so, I'm putting your ass on notice, because what you're not going to do, let's be very clear, is you're not going to play with my husband's name. Don't f--k with my family."
Gizelle shared her reaction to the intense moment during the August 22 episode of Bravo's Chat Room, alongside co-host Porsha Williams and special guest Karen Huger. "It's a couple things. One, I was thinking Wendy never liked me — ever. She was just pretending. That's number one, because she went to a negative space way too fast," she reflected in the above clip. "And number two, I was thinking, when I see crazy come, I don't negotiate with crazy. I never do that."
According to Karen, Gizelle brought this all upon herself. "Well, actually, I feel that anyone who continuously comes after one of the girls in the group's husband or their marriage got to be prepared to pay the piper, and Gizelle paid the piper," she said. "Wendy ripped her a new seat. But it's sad to see that because they are sisters in more than one way."
Gizelle then noted how Karen has also talked about their castmates' significant others on RHOP over the years, adding, "You can't put that on me."
Even though Gizelle said that she wasn't coming after Wendy's husband (in fact, she has even said on the show that she didn't believe the rumors), Karen disagreed. "You sort of did," she said. "You actually, you know, did good though, Gizelle. I'm gonna give you credit. You passed it off to Ashley, and Ashley actually threw the rock for you, and you hit your hand."
"First of all, it wasn't messy, it wasn't nasty," Gizelle said in response. "We have all seen messy and nasty, and that wasn't it. So that's where I am with that."
Although Karen admitted that "Ashley can be messy," the blame here really lies with Gizelle, according to the RHOP grande dame. "But, Gizelle, if she really wanted or cared about Wendy — I'm saying this to your face in this virtual box where I'm safe — girl, if you cared about her, you would have taken her aside and told her," Karen explained. "You wouldn't have just drug her about in front of everybody."
Karen has been a big supporter of Wendy this season of RHOP, comforting her as she got emotional after some of the ladies asked questions about the changes in her appearance and personality this season during that first night in Williamsburg. And after Wendy shared how much Karen's support meant to her during lunch the next day, also in the August 22 episode of RHOP, Gizelle had something to say about their newfound friendship. "Let's be clear. Wendy, Karen really doesn't like you. Candiace [Dillard Bassett] and Karen used to have the same Mommie Dearest dysfunctional relationship," Gizelle said in an interview during the episode. "So, go right ahead and fall in the Mother Goose trap."
Karen responded to Gizelle's comments on Bravo's Chat Room. "As far as Wendy goes, I'm gonna uplift a sister. I'm gonna pick her up; I'm not gonna knock her down. I'm gonna make sure these girls are OK in the group. And what I do is I uplift and I empower in the weakest moments of friendship," she shared in the below clip. "And so, that makes me sort of cool. I'm just saying, OK? And nobody's nobody's mama, all right."
She also confirmed to Gizelle that Wendy had been crying to her over what was said at dinner the night before. "That's why I poured myself into her. She had a moment, and I don't like it when my sisters are hurting," Karen said. "And I believe in lifting and pulling you through. I'll help you back up, baby. I'm not gonna kick you while you're down. Not me."
