Captain Glenn Shephard Just Ran Into a Familiar Below Deck Face and "You'll Never Guess" Who
Here's why the Below Deck Sailing Yacht captain's photo is a rare sight on his Instagram.
If there's one thing we've learned from watching Below Deck over the years, it's that the yachting industry is incredibly small. Yachties have often met or worked together before the charter season has even begun. Many of them even meet up with crew members from all across the various franchises and seasons as they pursue professional endeavors after the charter season ends.
So, it's safe to say that you never know when you're going to run into a Below Deck yachtie, and Captain Glenn Shephard's recent encounter is definitely proof of that.
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss recently unexpectedly ran into none other than his Season 2 deckhand Sydney Zaruba while out and about in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. "What a coinkydink!" Captain Glenn captioned the pic of their run-in on April 4. "You’ll never guess who I bumped into while driving in the mountains above Palma this weekend."
Captain Glenn added of his Parsifal III crew member, "Sydney always puts a smile on my face."
Sydney commented "BESTIES BABY" on Captain Glenn's photo, along with two heart emojis. She also shared the same photo in her Instagram Story, along with the caption "Glenn [hearts] me & I [heart] Glenn."
This photo of the Parsifal III crew members is also notable for the fact that it is one of the few on Captain Glenn's Instagram that actually has people in it. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss usually shares more scenic photography from his globetrotting on social media. "Everybody's telling me I've got to post scenery with me in it," Captain Glenn said during an Instagram Live chat with Below Deck Mediterranean alum João Franco in March. "But I'm not a selfie kind of guy."
So after Captain Glenn's pic with Sydney, it was back to his regularly scheduled programming on Instagram. "Ok one goofy picture of Glenn, that should keep em happy for a while. Now back to pics of pretty places," Captain Glenn joked in the caption to a photo of Santa Catalina in Palma, where he also wished his followers a happy Easter.
