Captain Glenn Shephard and João Franco Were "All Smiles" on a Double Date with Their Girlfriends
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss recently met up with the Below Deck Mediterranean alum for a night out with their girlfriends.
Is there a new bromance on the horizon between Captain Glenn Shephard and João Franco?
As fans know, yachties of the Below Deck franchise are a tight-knit community, often developing strong bonds that extend beyond their respective charter seasons. In fact, some crew members become such close friends that they even plan double dates with their partners while overseas.
That much was proven by the Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss and the Below Deck Mediterranean alum, who recently got together for a night out in Europe. Get all the details on Captain Glenn and João’s meet-up below.

On November 26, João took to social media to share a glimpse at his and Captain Glenn's seemingly fun dinner date in Spain. In his Instagram post, João shared photos from that night, including one snapshot of him sitting in Captain Glenn's lap with a huge smile on their faces.
"Just because he doesn’t have a beard and a red suit doesn’t mean I can’t sit on his lap," João wittingly captioned the post.
Captain Glenn and João were in good company for their meeting, as they both brought along their girlfriends, Danelis “Dani” Jimenez and Domi Tiesi, respectively. The quartet posed for an adorable photo in front of a Christmas tree.
João wasn't the only one to get it on the social media fun as Captain Glenn posted the same photos to his feed, where he explained what it was like to reunite with his friend. "It was so cool catching up with João and his lovely partner Domi," he wrote in his Instagram post. "He sat on my lap thinking I was Santa, I didn't have the heart to tell him I was just one of Santa's Elves."
After poking fun at his buddy, Captain Glenn shared that he and Dani were supposed to meet João and his girlfriend for a "quick coffee," but they ended up talking for "four and half hours."
"So much fun," Captain Glenn concluded.

A few days before Captain Glenn's meetup with João, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht boss took to Instagram to sound off on the negativity of his relationship with Dani.
Ever since the two started dating nearly five years ago, their connection has been subject to criticism over their age gap; however, took matters into his own hands by speaking out against the naysayers.
“I knew this apparent age difference would be an issue for some, but my feeling is when you find someone who you click with that is perfect in every other way, when it comes to love and happiness, I can think of no other best time to throw caution to the wind,” Captain Glenn shared about his partner.
What is João Franco's job now?
In March 2023, João announced on his Instagram that he accepted a new position to serve as the captain of a 43-meter super yacht that he also coincidentally helped build. He also revealed that he was working on getting his master’s license.
