On Season 5, Episode 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Chef Cloyce Martin decided to hang out with the guests instead of prepping for lunch. Well, we're now seeing the repercussions of his decision. In fact, it may cost Parsifal III an entire future charter.

After returning to the boat from their fun in the sun during Season 5, Episode 4, the guests discovered that their lunch wasn't ready — an unsurprising turn of events considering Cloyce was hanging out with them up until 20 minutes before they made their way back onboard.

As they waited to eat, one of the guests asked, "OK, ladies, so we're doing this again next year, yes?" However, her friends weren't convinced.

"Well, if they feed us," another member of the group responded. "I'm really hungry."

Making matters worse, the primary's daughter hadn't eaten breakfast that day. "I'm feeling good, but I'm like ... ready to eat," she said.

"I'm not coming back if we don't get lunch," added the first guest.

When Daisy Kelliher radioed Cloyce to tell him the guests were ready to eat, he was still feverishly chopping herbs. At that point, they'd been waiting for five minutes.

At 11 minutes past lunchtime, someone offered to go upstairs and grab snacks.

Daisy Kelliher Reacts to Chef Cloyce's "Crazy" Lunch Mistake

As Daisy watched Cloyce plate the food around 5:15 p.m., an hour and fifteen minutes past the scheduled lunch time, she couldn't hide her disappointment.

"This is so stressful," she muttered as Cloyce cut into chicken that he admitted he should have cooked "one minute longer." Finally, Daisy declared, "I'm gonna call it. I'm gonna say, 'Let's go.' This is crazy."

"For f-ck's sake," she said in a confessional.

Luckily, she was soon able to serve the meal, which consisted of salmon, salad, chicken, and pita.

"Here you go," she said to the guests as she placed a platter on the table.

"I was about to go to sleep," one member of the group responded. (What timing!)

Even though they had to wait for it, the guests were ultimately pleased with their food. "This is an amazing lunch," someone said.

Why Did Chef Cloyce Martin Leave Parsifal III Instead of Prepping Lunch?

Cloyce was initially confident that he would be able to enjoy time with the guests and be ready for lunch service. However, he admitted in an episode interview that he may have misjudged the situation.

"I'm infrequently wrong, but I did underestimate my timing," he said. "You know, everything's my fault, which is awesome. I love that."

Captain Glenn Shephard Reacts to Chef Cloyce Leaving Parsifal III with Guests

The rest of his crew saw the scene coming — including Captain Glenn Shephard, who became concerned when he walked through the galley and didn't see any prep work done during Episode 3.

"He's gotta understand he's here for a purpose. He's not a guest," the captain said during the October 21 episode. "I like strong people around me that I can trust. And right now, I'm starting to worry. What's he thinking?"

Glenn had a warning for Cloyce once the charter concluded on the October 28 episode: "Keep in mind professionalism. You're here to give the guests 5-star meals and not play on the water toys."
