The Charter Guests Ask Captain Glenn for Something He’s “Never Done” Before
Find out why one Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew member said the request is “insane.”
The Parsifal III crew is always determined to go above and beyond for all their guests, even if it involves taking on unusual requests. And on the April 24 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Captain Glenn Shephard was met with an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Moments after setting sail in Sardinia, Italy, the primary charter guest pulled Captain Glenn aside to put in a “weird request” of having a buffet-style dinner so the yachties could join them. Captain Glenn was surprised by the kind gesture as he told the guest, “Wow…I’ve never done that ever.”
Immediately after, Captain Glenn shared the news with Daisy Kelliher and Chef Ileisha Dell, who was also shocked by the requisition. “I don’t want to turn them down,” Captain Glenn told both ladies in the episode.
From there, Daisy shared, “You tell me what to do and I’ll make it work.” During their conversation, Captain Glenn noted that Chef Ileisha “couldn’t send hot meals up” while she's at the dinner table, which could be an issue. Of course, all the pressure was on Chef Ileisha to deliver an epic spread for the charter guest and crew members.
“This request is crazy,” Chef Ileisha said in a confessional. “I’m thinking, oh my god can I do this? [I] can’t say no, but like it’s insane.”
As the episode continued, Chef Ileisha worked against the clock to prepare a family-style dinner for 14 people. To relieve some of the stress from the cook, Colin MacRae volunteered to lend a helping hand in the kitchen. “Is time management one of your weaknesses or what?” Colin quipped before Chef Ileisha added, “No, normally, I’m pretty good.”
While Chef Ileisha continued to cook diligently, she soon realized she only had “ten minutes” left to add the finishing touches to her cuisine. Luckily, she completed all dishes with the assistance of Colin, who she made sure to thank. “There’s no way I would’ve pulled this off without Colin’s help,” she admitted in her interview.
Not only were the charter guests impressed by the delicious spread, but so was Captain Glenn. “I’m so proud of Ileisha. She’s doing a great job. It’s a massive win for me and the whole crew,” he said during his confessional.
Captain Glenn wasn’t the only one to show his appreciation. Colin also thanked the charter guests for having him and the rest of the crew for dinner. “I don’t know if you guys realize this or not, but this is absolutely not normal,” he said in the episode. “I’ve never been invited to eat with a guest before, so thank you guys, for treating us with so much respect.”
