Daisy Kelliher Opens Up About “Tough” Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4: “I’m Still Smiling”
The chief stew shared an update on how she’s doing after admittedly putting “too much pressure” on herself.
Daisy Kelliher is looking back on the rough seas she hit emotionally during Season 4 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
The yachtie, who has been the chief stew on Parsifal III since the show’s sophomore season, broke down on Episode 6 after receiving some criticism at Captain Glenn Shephard’s tip meeting to “work smarter” during service.
“We’re massively trying our hardest with the resources we’re given,” Daisy said in defense of her team, which consists of stews Lucy Edmunds and Mads Herrera. As she began to tear up, Daisy left the tip meeting for a brief break in her cabin.
“I just feel like I’m taking on so much responsibility,” Daisy said to first mate Gary King. “I’m so sick of hearing my f-cking name and people asking me questions that I can’t answer.”
The day after the episode aired, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast member took to Instagram to share a selfie and reflect on the emotions she was feeling during that tip meeting.
“I have had so many people reach out to me over the last few weeks in regards to how overwhelmed I’ve been in the last few episodes, just wanted to let you know I’m all good and I really appreciate all the support,” Daisy wrote at the beginning of her caption, before explaining why she felt so stressed out when she on the boat this time around.
“Yes it was a tough season for me, I probably put too much pressure on myself and sometimes when I feel I’m getting pushed up against a wall I can break down — I am human after all but what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger and I’m still smiling 90% of the time even if you don’t see it,” she added.
The yachtie then promised that she’ll “learn” and “grow” from the experience, and that she’ll become a “better person for it.” She went on to thank Mads and Lucy for helping her to get through the season.
“I wouldn’t change it for the world. I may seem like I’m over my job but a couple of bad charters [aren’t] going to put me off,” she concluded. “I’m much stronger than that!”
