Kate Chastain Addresses Speculation About the Father of Her Baby
Days after welcoming her baby boy, the former Below Deck chief stew sounded off on a major rumor.
Kate Chastain is settling into the early days of motherhood now that she has welcomed her son, Sullivan Cay, but she made time to clap back at a recently surfaced rumor about her baby.
The Below Deck alum has not publicly shared who her baby boy’s father is (back in December 2022, she revealed that she was planning to raise her child “solo and perhaps with some help”), but she’s giving fans a major clue about who the dad is not.
Kate posted a photo of Sullivan on Twitter on May 8, and she debunked any speculation that his dad is a chef.
“For the record, the only thing this handsome guy has in common with any chef is the tendency to get emotional around meal times,” she tweeted alongside a picture of Sullivan resting in her lap.
As fans may recall, the former chief stew announced the “hard launch” of Sullivan’s arrival on Instagram on May 5, and it didn’t take long for Kate’s fellow Bravolebrity friends to send their love in the comments.
“Congratulations Kate, wishing you both all the best,” Captain Lee Rosbach wrote.
Below Deck Mediterranean captain Sandy Yawn added, “Congratulations!! I’m so happy for you!” And Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard said, “Look at that full head of hair!!! He’s perfect!”
While the aforementioned Bravolebs sent Kate well wishes after Sullivan was born, others did so during the final stretch of her pregnancy. Kate’s former Below Deck castmate and subsequent Below Deck Galley Talk watching partner, chef Ben Robinson, shared a heartfelt post about the then-expectant mother on April 10.
“Who knew that Kate Chastain and I would be the same weight one day,” Ben joked in the caption of a post featuring a photo of the two posing together. “But to be fair I have been hitting the gym! Please wish my great friend [Kate Chastain] an easy delivery and a healthy beautiful baby! I am so proud of who you have become and the mother you will soon be.”
As Kate said when she announced her pregnancy, she’s “already planning” a few “theme parties” for her baby. Time will tell if any of them will include appearances from her Below Deck friends.
