Mercedes "MJ" Javid Reveals Her Shocking Parenting Fight with Tommy Feight: "I’m Going to Have to Get a Court-Ordered Visitation”
The Shahs of Sunset mom and her husband are already having this baby battle over Shams.
Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Tommy Feight welcomed their son, Shams Francis Feight, into the world on April 17, and they're already having some adorable parenting disputes. Ever since Shams (who is named after MJ's late father Shams Javid) was born, the Shahs of Sunset mom and her husband have been fighting over all the duties that parents tend to want to pass off.
“Tommy is insanely attentive, loving, he’s a smotherer,” she told Us Weekly. “I tell him as a joke that I’m going to have to get a court ordered visitation with my son because he is always so amazing. We actually fight over changing diapers and holding him and feeding him. We’re both so involved.”
She can count on Tommy to hold down the baby fort when she has outside obligations, like a seminar that she told the publication she recently attended.
“I had peace of mind because I knew that he was all about it,” she explained of Tommy stepping up.
A difficult birth followed by the heartbreaking news that she won't be able to carry more children has given MJ a lot of perspective and advice to share with others.
“Embrace [it] all, make friends with new moms, create a network of support and kiss your husband," she offered. "Tell the people that are helping you make your life easier, that you love them as often as possible.”
