Beau Explains Why Stassi Covered the Down Payment on Their $1.7M Home
Beau Clark shed some light on how he and his fiancé divided the finances when it came to purchasing their new Hollywood Hills house.
As Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark searched for their dream home on Vanderpump Rules' May 19 episode, Beau got candid while discussing how the house would be financed.
"Stassi will definitely be putting down the down payment," he said of his bride-to-be. "I've been in my apartment with rent control for 15 years. She's a number one bestselling author. I have a great job, but I can definitely not put 25 percent down on a house right now."
After touring a home that was listed for $2M, Beau noted in an interview: "I have savings, just not that much yet."
As the duo talked over the details of the house they had just seen, the Next Level Basic author made it clear what she was looking for in a home. "I want something that has character and, like, Hollywood charm," she said before adding in reference to the new homes of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, and Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney-Schwartz: "I'm not going to be the fourth person to buy a modern farmhouse in Valley Village."
Ultimately, the couple ended up purchasing a $1.7M Mediterranean-style Hollywood Hills home. As Stassi told BravoTV.com in the video above: "We wanted an older home and we wanted to make it our own." Now, as they make big changes like demolishing the kitchen, adding a gentleman's library, building a garage gym, and replacing their stair railings, the pair is continuing to putting smaller touches on the abode, such as setting up fun outdoor lighting and adding an "OOTD" mirror to their "freakin' zen" master bedroom.
