The Vanderpump Rules Cast Hosted a Beautiful Fundraiser for Their Makeup Artist at SUR
Lisa Vanderpump's sexy, unique restaurant was home to a fundraiser for their makeup artist during his cancer battle.
Lisa Vanderpump opened up her West Hollywood Design District hotspot SUR, which stands for "sexy unique restaurant," on Sunday afternoon for a very good cause: a special brunch fundraiser called "It's a Benefit...Bitch!"
Proceeds from the event were earmarked in order to help the Vanderpump Rules crew's friend and makeup artist Jared Lipscomb, who is currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and facing an overwhelming pile of mounting medical bills as he prepares to return to the hospital to undergo a transplant.
With assistance from a Los Angeles events company called Party Witch, the #PumpRules posse went into full decorating mode for the occasion. They flooded SUR with colorful balloons and "F*ck Cancer" party hats that were topped with flowers. Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute also shared some glimpses of the "F*ck Cancer" T-shirts from James Mae that everyone wore and will be for sale to the public soon.
Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Tom Schwartz, Stassi Schoeder, Beau Clark, and Jax Taylor were among the other cast members attending the event.
A flower-bedecked step-and-repeat wall with the hashtag #SURBrunch made for the perfect social media backdrop for the party guests. And the #PumpRules friends are all really into Halloween, so the abundance of orange decor in general (orange is the color for leukemia awareness) gave them a good dress rehearsal for later this month, when they're all going to go big.
The party's purpose was a cause near and dear to the VPR cast's heart — benefitting their dear friend, Jared.
Kristen also shared a promising look at some of the gals counting cash in the parking lot after the event — hopefully it was a smashing success!
Be the Match was at the party and took swabs on-site to help Jared find a stem cell donor, which they're still actively looking for if you're interested in seeing if you're a match. Kristen, Brittany and Ariana joined Jared's friends in swabbing at the party. You can also contribute to the continuing fundraising efforts to fight Jared's bills via GoFundMe.
