Meredith Marks Responds to Criticism of Her Renting Homes Instead of Buying Them
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member reacted to comments about her current living situation.
Over the past few seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Meredith Marks has faced some criticism from her castmates about her choice to rent instead of owning her homes.
On a February 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Meredith addressed the comments, explaining that her decision to hold off on buying a home isn’t related to her finances. “In terms of affording a house, we are living a lifestyle that we are actually spending a lot more money than it would cost us to buy a house because it’s what my choice is, to figure out what we want to do right now,” she said. “We’re empty nesters for the first time.”
The Utah mom once again responded to the criticism of her housing choices during a recent interview.
Meredith Marks responds to criticism about her renting homes
In an interview with TODAY published on September 5, Meredith once again defended her decision to rent after the topic was brought up on the Season 4 premiere of RHOSLC.
“I don’t care. What’s wrong with that?” Meredith said during the interview. “So what, I rent luxury homes and live a beautiful life, so great.”
As viewers may recall, Meredith revealed in a December 2020 Instagram Q&A that the home she was living in at the time was “a temporary rental.” Then, during the RHOSLC Season 2 premiere in 2021, Meredith revealed that she and Seth wanted a “fresh start” with a different home in Utah. “We found a new home with much better views and it’s much more reflective of our style,” she shared at the time. (Meredith also has “a family home” in Boca Raton, Florida.)

Meredith can’t be bothered with what people have to say about her living situation — she’s in the middle of expanding her empire.
On August 4, the entrepreneur announced she was launching Meredith Marks Caviar, revealing more details a few days later via the business’ official page.
“As a lifestyle brand deeply committed to redefining elegance and indulgence, Meredith Marks is thrilled to introduce our exclusive luxury caviar collection,” the caption read. “The Meredith Marks Caviar collection curates an unparalleled journey for our discerning customers, one that transcends beyond material possessions and delves into the realm of extraordinary taste and refinement.”
According to its website, Meredith Marks Caviar currently includes three varieties: 24 Karat Kaluga (from $32.50), Diamond Ossetra (from $44.50), and Platinum White Sturgeon (from $34.50).
