Karen Huger Just Gave Wendy Williams Solid Advice on How to Meet a Man
The Real Housewives of Potomac grande dame had some good tips on how to meet your very own Black Bill Gates.
Karen Huger's husband, Ray, hates being called the Black Bill Gates (a title that Beyoncé borrowed for her song "Formation"), but The Real Housewives of Potomac grande dame told Wendy Williams that her hair salon used to call Ray that and it just stuck.
"Hey, how did you meet that? Give us some tips," Williams, who filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Hunter, last month, asked Karen when she was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show.
"Let's talk about that," Karen said. "I had been married before, and Lord knows he was gorgeous but, you know, we didn’t mesh..."
Karen said she decided she wanted to forever be the hot young thing in her next marriage, and she devised a strategy to meet an older and more upwardly mobile man.
"I met Ray at the Black Caucus, honey," she revealed. "If you want a change..."
"Listen closely!" Williams interjected.
"We all like shiny things, beautiful things, right? But I wanted to get married again so I said a prayer to God. I said, 'Look, I need a man I can look up to that is not afraid of me.'"
"And you planted yourself purposely right in the middle..." Williams suggested.
"I certainly did, I went straight to the Black Caucus, honey."
"You think you’re going to meet a man, you've got to go where the men are," Williams added. "The Black Caucus, you’ve got to go to the Greek Alpha conventions, the National Dentists Association if you want yourself a doctor."
"You’ve got to go where you’re uncomfortable," Karen agreed. "I was growing, I was in a place of growth..."
That took Williams by surprise.
"Oh, were you uncomfortable there?" she asked Karen.
"I was uncomfortable there because I was not used to it," Karen explained. "I was not ready for it. There were high powered people there, very successful. But I wanted to be like them, so in order to be like them I had to make myself a student of that circle."
"You seem like you were born this way," Williams said, unintentionally quoting Lady Gaga.
"It all came together," Karen replied.
Karen just shared some serious game.
